There was a thread these days about the Impact Conspiracy Theorist Have On Society. This example shows the consequences very well.

Two former leaders of the far-right Proud Boys extremist group were sentenced to more than a decade each in prison Thursday for spearheading an attack on the U.S. Capitol to try to prevent the peaceful transfer of power from Donald Trump to Joe Biden after the 2020 presidential election. The 17-year prison term for organizer Joseph Biggs and 15-year sentence for leader Zachary Rehl were the second and third longest sentences handed down yet in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack.

Rehl sobbed as he told the judge he deeply regretted being at the Capitol that day. “I’m done with all of it, done peddling lies for other people who don’t care about me,” Rehl said. “Politicians started spreading lies about the election, and I fell for it hook, line and sinker.”

What does the ATS community think about sentencing? After all, there are still more sentences to come. Enrique Tarrio is waiting for his verdict. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes or an unfair verdict? A pretty harsh punishment but that seems to be the way the laws are in the US. Bitter for the families, that's for sure.

I won't be surprised if the DOJ appeals the sentences. Both are about half what sentencing guidelines recommend.

When will we see punishment for the security guard who murdered an unarmed woman that day? Oh, we won't. Because it needs to be the people vs the people.

Tarrio and Rehl are being sentenced for starting the reichstag fire, and anyone applauding it needs to have their head examined, and their ability to get onto the internet disconnected.

Here's my shocked face.

Of course the Biden DoJ will offer up harsh penalties for anyone right of Lenin.

I am shocked that they didn't get the death penalty.

Maybe if she wasn't trespassing and then try to enter the chamber she wouldn't have been shot. She did that to herself and had it coming. I feel absolutely zero sympathy for her.

I do not know the legal situation. Is there a link to this?

Gosh, I thought for sure they'd be exonerated.

I wonder how much Rehl got his sentence reduced for lying.

There's nothing extremist about the Proud Boys.

Maybe if she wasn't a Trump supporter... We know why you don't care.

Same reason you were probably bent all out of shape when antifa showed up to a rally with the sole purpose to start a fight with those white nationalists and one of them got ran over because of it. Bet you were all over that one.

They did the same thing after the Oath Keepers were given sentences significantly shorter than what was requested:

Justice Department appeals Jan. 6 prison sentences for Stewart Rhodes, Oath Keepers

In the case of Biggs they were looking for 33 years and in the case of Rehl they were looking for 27 years.

Prosecutors seek 33-year sentence for Volusia County Proud Boys leader Joseph Biggs

A lot of people, around my small town, just see this as a message being sent. Same with the "fake" governor kidnapping BS here in MI.

Stand up to our corrupt government, get slapped down hard.

And the sad thing about the whole show?

It was a product put on by the FBI and other agencies to begin with.

At this point, "We the people" doesn't mean crap.

Murdered for trespassing?
What’s next, 30 years hard labor for a parking ticket?
That’s what they do at the Commie Gulag.

You guys are insane, you guys need teams of clinical psychologists and psychiatrists at the university level to even make an attempt to fix the mental illness that has infected you.

Are you actually trying to compare the death of someone who was shot trying to break into the inner sanctum of the Capitol while a riot was occurring to someone that was run over while peacefully walking down a walking mall?

I’ll wait for the Ray Epps verdict before I start to declare whether anything is fair.

In approximately 17 months, President Trump will release hundreds of Patriots wrongly arrested for walking inside THEIR US Capitol on January 6th 2021.

Hopefully they will be well compensated for the pain and suffering inflicted upon them by Evil elements of US government.

It's impossible to convince a crazy person that they're crazy, that's why we used to have asylums for them. No amount of psychologists or psychiatrists could convince these people that they're lunatics. Sadly, it goes beyond the plebs here, it's all the way up into the white house. They literally couldn't care less that an innocent girl was murdered simply because she was a Trump supporter. There wasn't even a trial for Babbitt because the "investigators" claimed there was no evidence, even though there was an easily accessible video of it. Conveniently enough, they had all the evidence they needed to go door to door arresting anyone at the protest but can never track down any of the people responsible for causing billions of dollars in damage in the "peaceful protests".

Ya there is video of her attempting to breach the chamber. She got what she deserved. No more no less, why don't you go and do the same thing and let us know how that works out for ya?
