Now that the smoke and haze from the Summer of Trump "Indictment Fireworks" is clearing, reality is setting in. The reality of trying a former U.S. President, who is also the leading candidate for being elected President again, just 15 months from now!

Not surprisingly, 89% of Democrats want Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump to stand trial (and hopefully convicted) for at least one of his 4 criminal indictments before November 2024. However...

Legal experts say that former President Donald Trump’s criminal trials are unlikely to occur before the 2024 general election.

Trump’s criminal proceedings in four jurisdictions are currently in a pre-trial phase, involving discovery, motions, jury selection and interlocutory appeals — which experts believe will delay the process by over a year.

Trump, who is the leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, has been indicted four times in New York, Florida, Washington, D.C. and Georgia on state and federal charges.

Following Trump’s initial appearances, prosecutors in each jurisdiction have been seeking a speedy trial, despite protests from his legal team, with experts saying it’s likely that the trials will occur after the general election.
Source: dailycaller.com...

Attorneys were discussing on a news show this weekend how many of the Georgia defendants asking for a speedy trial, will push President Trump's Georgia trial into 2025 or 2026. His trial will be last...after the other 18 arrested individuals have had their trial/verdict.

And, as the article states, DOJ Prosecutors have given Defendant Donald Trump's Lawyers, over 11 million pages of evidence to study. (The Discovery Phase)

It's really quite fascinating how Donald Trump and his Lawyers have so many tools to delay the trials, and legitimate reasons for doing so, considering he's the leading candidate for being elected President in November 2024.

We'll soon know if the "Legal Experts" are correct with their navigation assumptions in these un-charted waters.

My goodness! Over 10 million more pages than the ACA; how'd they get that done in such a short time span? AI?

I hope all their plans end in disaster for them for this blatant act of election interference. Bribing judges and prosecutors, kangaroo courts ala mode. Fabricating evidence, the entire thing based upon pure fantasy and hatred.

His VP pick needs to be on point if/when he wins the nomination. It really could be the deciding factor for swing voters who think he may be removed from office pending the criminal proceedings.

I'm afraid he would choose Ramaswamy. Something about him rubs me the wrong way. The smart move would obviously be the runner up candidate. I hope it's Desantis.

I wasn't on the Desantis train until the debate, but seeing his demeanor next to the other candidates swayed me for now.

Anyway, in many peoples' minds the VP could easily become the president a couple years in.

Finding the right pick might solidify his consistency.

What Democrats don't get is we see the DOJ/DA Get Trump Witch Hunters as being rabid lunatics, just like they see the GOP "Get Biden" Congress as rabid lunatics.

The out-of-touch pundits on CBS/CNN/MSNBC, etc.. say, "This man has 4 indictments in 5 months and is still leading! How can that be?"

On CNN this morning the panel asked Biden advisor IL Gov JB Pritzker, "How can Trump and Biden be neck-n-neck in our poll? A man who's been arrested 4 times is seen as equal to President Joe Biden! How is that possible?!? Aren't you alarmed?!!!!?"

President Trump has put Democrats and Corrupt Republicans in a place where no man has gone before, and it's scaring the poop out of them.

They probably took all the fairy tale books from the library, and the materials accumulated by the Jan 6th Congressional Committee Circus, and 30,000 of Capitol Video, and shipped it all to wherever Donald Trump's lawyers are working. They'll need at least 6 months to go over it, and tailor their defense properly.

To show how stupid Fani Willis (the Georgia D.A.) is, she promised to Get Trump, "He's going to be very surprised!", immediately after being elected District Attorney.

Source: www.theguardian.com...

As we've seen, those who invent crimes and attach them to Donald Trump, always end up with egg-on-face.

Fani Willis will go down in flames.

So ... If the case is so airtight why wait for the year before election

All I want to know if a crime was committed and they have as much evidence as they say why now

I know the awnser most of you do as well only the idiots could say otherwise

I mean they say it's a slam dunk case right .... What's the point of taking the Ricsk of him being POTUS again and pulling strings to exonerate himself

That is unless the real risk is not what we are told

His attorney Habba was on Fox this weekend stating that Trump is not your average person and is extremely intelligent so that he really needs no time to prepare for these "simple" cases. She states the Georgia case is just about a phone call.

Guessing there need not be any delay then? Plus isn't he anxious to present that bombshell election fraud evidence he decided not to show last week?

It's simple dispite the best efforts the Democrat party; here in the US people are considered innocent until they are proven guilty in a court of law .... people are not guilty just because the Democrats can abused the system and indicted their political rivals.

The interesting thing is that the Democrat party has historically been the party to champion defendents rights. I wonder what happened to them in this last decade for them to abandon their ideals so readily?

Here in the US a defendent has every right to mount whatever their defense team deems the best strategy to prevail in cort. If endlessly delaying (with in legal bounds) the most simplest of cases is what is best for the defendent; than that is the strategy we should all assume the defendent will take. Reading guilt into a defendent exercising their rights is nonsensical.

If people don't like this fact of justice they can always move to Russia or China where the state has a lot more power to politically prosecute their enemies.

The POTUS and VPOTUS can not be from the same state. It's against the law.
Both Trump and Desantis are from Florida. So it can not be Desantis.

Personally? I don't really care, he can delay as long as allowed. I'm not one donating my hard earned money to pay for his lawyers to delay a year or two. If his base never tires of it, that's on them.

I simply stated that contrary to the legal pundits in the OP, his attorney states that he has no need to prepare due to his exceptional intelligence. If he's actually in no hurry to prove his innocence, that's on him.

How in the known universe did even a million pages of legalese get generated based on 'Find me 11k votes'.

This is crazy territory we are in.

Wow, I tell you all something, if democrats take the white house again a lot of people are going to cry after the real damage to the nation is completed.

I had the most disturbing dream last night, it was a man talking, he was explaining to everybody listening, how the US will become a dictatorship, he made references of occurrences with other countries and their dictators.

Specially ownership of the judicial system and that is what is going on in the US, plus the incarceration and assassination of the opposition.

Trump is never going to give up, never, that only mean one more option and that is unthinkable off.
