I enjoy the heat, well 30°C is my sweet spot temperature-wise.
I am actually sad that it is supposed to get colder in two days.

People with air conditioners seem to have troubles thinking straight, assuming too much, too narcissistic.

HA 86, you call that heat. We call that a little warm. Honey, it’s over 100, and with the heat index it’s much higher.
I know the heat has gotten to you, so I’ll provide the proof.

The findings showed that during the heat wave, students in the buildings without AC performed worse on the tests than students in the air-conditioned dormitories and experienced decreases across five measures of cognitive function, including reaction times and working memory.

Many of the new A/C systems can already be controlled remotely by manufacturers.
And yes, they have already been controlled by regulators in some situations
Especially when there are power supply issues

That's crazy.

Also my electric company was giving out a "discount" if you signed up for rollbacks when electric use is high.
Um hello, that's exactly when I want to use it, when it is very hot or very cold outside. Dotards!

There are urban areas in places that have fairly consistent hot climates and that that have now instigated green zones of trees, water features and parks between and even on the buildings. This has resulted in lower average temperatures of up to 7 degrees.

Ever been to St. Louis? It’s a pretty green place, lots of trees. If they did all those thing and reduced the temp 7 degrees that would leave them at a real feel of 103 degrees, so not much help.

I have never been anywhere in the USA.

And 103 degrees C is above the boiling point of water.

... because the rest of the world measures temperature in degrees Centigrade.

The equivalent to a difference of 7 degrees C is a difference of 12 degrees F.

Here in the UK, its still pretty rare to find houses with wall mounted air conditioning, however I had it fitted some 8 years ago - 3 indoor wall units with 1 outside fan unit
It was pretty cheap at £2k back then but now I believe its around £6k for a similar Mitsubishi system.

i definitely could not live without it as I hate being hot at night. It’s probably the best thing I have purchased for my house.

First stop for the EPA? My house.. I run my air conditioner about 24/7. I cant stand humid heat. I used to have remote start on my Ram and I would start the Ram up before I stepped out of the house. I got the air nice and cold in my truck. Now, I have a jeep and I want to shoot myself for not getting remote start on it. I really live near the beach but it still is not cool enough for me. I do not know why but I am RH-NEG and have read that this blood type is sensitive to heat. I can attest to that. I want to move to Alaska.

Just what I was thinking the last couple of days. I can’t even tell myself what a pansy I am because I’m retired, and I’ve earned the right to be weak.

Yep, it's coming...

We have seen a big consumer backlash in 2023 over Biden administration bureaucrats targeting gas stoves, but that could pale in comparison to the coming anger over costly air conditioning regulations.

In fact, that has already begun, making this unusually hot summer even more unpleasant for homeowners needing air conditioner repairs. And things could get downright ugly starting next summer.

The Environmental Protect Agency (EPA) just announced a 40% production cut in 2024 for hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), the widely used class of refrigerants being targeted for their claimed contribution to climate change. As it is, the modest 10% cut in force today has already caused many HFCs to triple in price, including HFC-410a which is used in most home air conditioners.

www.foxnews.com...

I'm sure there was a thread about this a short while ago.

How much more expensive will this make a new AC system. I'm in Florida btw.

I'd hate to have to buy a new system when my current one is still working but just old (from 1992, but well maintained). So if it should become very costly to replace I'd be forced to replace a perfectly working AC system years sooner maybe . If these hypocrites pushing higher AC prices were so concerned about 'climate change' they would never force people to buy a new system before the price goes up maybe substantially.
