After ten years I’ve learned to manage those home distractions quite well. My mind works better when I can’t hear 50 yappers talking to customers or their cubicle neighbors about last night’s exploits. My job is one in which I do really well in the peace and quiet of my comfortable home office versus being a rat in a cage. a reply to: MichiganSwampBuck

COVID-19 Mandates are Back: Atlanta-Based Morris Brown College Reinstates Masks Mandates, Social Distancing, Quarantine, Contact Tracing Effective Immediately Despite No Reported COVID-19 Cases on Campus

Morris Brown College, a private institution in Atlanta, has announced that it will require students and employees to wear face masks on campus once again.

The decision comes just a week after classes began and will be in effect for two weeks.

The announcement was made on Sunday in a letter to faculty, staff, and students, citing “reports of positive cases among students in the Atlanta University Center” as the reason behind the decision, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Morris Brown President Kevin James informed the news outlet via email on Monday that there have been no reports of COVID-19 cases on Morris Brown’s campus itself. He characterized the measures as “precautionary” in nature.

I'm not making a thread for you, sorry. Here are some links for your perusal, though.
Most compliant:
www.cdc.gov...

At each time point, the prevalence of reported mitigation behaviors was lowest among younger adults (aged 18–29 years) and highest among older adults (aged ≥60 years)

Most vaxxed and boosted in age 65+
usafacts.org...
Highest support for mandates among Democrats and age 60+
news.uchicago.edu...
Baby boomers highest divorce rate:
divorce.com...

You don't need to put any words in my mouth about the bane of anyone's existence or other dramatic stuff. Everything I cited above is true--boomers largely supported measures which damaged the health of the youth of our nation, and many of them selfishly went along with forcing kids to take a dangerous experimental gene therapy to "protect grandma" (they were grandma, so to protect themselves)

Obviously, there were outliers, but the numbers support the facts I wrote above.

ETA: I could not find any information supporting my assertion that boomers were the most fearful, in fact what I found was the opposite, so I might have been wrong there. Personal experience showed the boomers I know (and very much love btw, and I and most people of all generations can be selfish too, btw) were by far more afraid of the vid than the younger, but that might not apply to all.
www.verywellmind.com...

The youth were damaged in so many ways, and here we are allowing this happen to them again.

The catch is that if we hypothetically assume this variant I’d real, pathology yet inconclusive and the authorities genuinely attempting to contain it… then locking down asap is the right move. If this had been done sooner in 2020 then lockdowns may have been far shorter, rather than allowing rapid community spread leading to surges in hospital admissions

If I had to place a bet I’d say this variant is no more dangerous than the previous and heard immunity is the best root. Moreover this variant is likely to be used for social control and profiteering by the pharma gravy train the the politicians on that train.

The point I’m making is we don’t know which and there is the chance, however slim that it’s a worse variant and containment is best used soo er than later. It’s a pickle for the Everyman and woman to discern truth when the establishment has proven itself time and again to be corrupt.

Just a reminder. . . . .

Back when the Chinese Koff-Koff started, a few of us had some cautions and advise.

We were roundly slammed back then but had been proven right.

Don't forget the facts. Don't let media, social media, politicians lie to you.

They did it before, they will try again. Even after the revelations about the made-up social distancing, the fake mask scare, people are still eating this up.

Don't be a sheep.

so how can the pcr tests "find" a new varient that came about (allegedly) after the pcr test ?
Surely even those with slip on shoes due to being unable to fathom how laces work will not fall for this b/s again ??

edit---- then again !!

There are online courses that would help you understand how we find out these things.

I'm just reporting a fact. I expect this one will be even milder than omicron, much to my dismay.

Got to ask why is it much to your dismay if it is even milder than Omicron?

As I've stated many times here, I'm a proponent of global depopulation.

Now I see why you love the war in Ukraine so much...

You are getting your wish because studies show most people in the developed world are not reproducing at a rate to replace population which will lead to a population collapse in the 2050's.

Not depopulation but COLLAPSE...

Climate change alarmists are no different than population alarmists. They fail to understand the more nuanced aspects of what they preach.

The planet isn't over populated it's mismanaged by power hunger tyrants who hoard the wealth and resources. Creating artificial scarcity's that make people think the family of 5 down the street is the problem. Not the people at the top who individually produce as much pollution as small cities.

In regards to the op:
Everything is pointing to a new virus/variant, new lock down, and more mail in voting. The real question is did enough people wake up during the trial run to form a large enough resistance to push back when they use the next "disaster" to erode our freedoms.

I couldn't care less about the planet or the environment. I'm looking at this from a purely financial standpoint. I'm sick of paying for other people's kids that they have despite being unable to afford them and I'm also sick of paying to house and feed illegal immigrants. And I'm especially sick of how billions are thrown at the homeless and they are still crapping on the sidewalks and leaving their needles everywhere.

& all those things that piss you off is caused by the general populace......your fellow human being ? My God man ! You didn't happen to have a previous life & were a german local policeman around start of WWII by any chance ?

I'm not completely heartless. I am fine with supporting the disabled and the elderly. However, you are keen to compare me with a 1930s/40s German police officer because I would throw the able bodied from the 3 categories of people from my previous post straight into the oven.

Basically, all masks for the general public are harmful when it comes to something like an airborne viral pandemic. PPE is utterly useless if not donned and doffed properly. Which the general public does not do.

Oh I agree, but the medical grades are much more expensive and more of a hassle... my point being, it is an escalation of their round 1 of the covid mass psychosis.

Well, the point I'll make in response is that containment should be done as it alwas was done prior to the covid mass hysteria - you contain the SICK, not the healthy.

Meaning, you do NOT lockdown society, you quarantine the sick individuals.

Anything else is utter tyranny - surely you aren't in favor of utter tyranny McGinty? You've always seemed rational and sane to me.

meanwhile at Rutgers University

It's time for medical authoritarians to trust the science 8-21-23

Students at Rutgers University face disenrollment next month if they don’t comply with the school’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, which requires all students to receive their primary shot(s) as well as the booster.

Rutgers has maintained this requirement since it became the first school to mandate the vaccine in March 2021 despite overwhelming sentiment that the pandemic is over, as well as revelations undermining the necessity of these injections for college-age students.

Thanks for what you have provided. Looks like you're mostly correct, except IMO, the boomers seem to be victims of their era, the post WWII Atomic Age, were as I was more of a product of the late 60s and early 70s, the Space Age.

Being a mere few months behind Gen X, I never felt like a boomer, and from what I know of my parents, we grew up very differently in very different eras. I don't fit those stats at all.

I absolutely agree that all of us are, to some extent, victims and/or products of our era (certainly on the generational, if not the individual, scale).

Thanks for checking out the links.

Well, I’m flattered by the rational & sane comment, but really you should ask my ex - she’d say otherwise, in no small part due to the time I spend here 😉

I agree, there is probably now a greater chance that another lockdown is indeed a manipulation - a tightening of the screws on public freedoms - a tyranny.

But from a purely hypothetical stand point if a new variant appeared that potentially had a pathology harmful enough to trigger a new lockdown, then surely sooner is better. This is because gestation is invisible - asymptomatic! If we knew we were infected as soon as we were infectious then we could hope individuals would contain themselves until not infectious. Problem with covid has always been that a carrier can infect many people before they know they’ve got it.

Only way to deal with that is total lockdown straight away for everyone for 2 weeks. That’s the best chance of stopping general spread in its tracks.

As I said this is the hypothetical situation in which covid is what tptb tell us it is and tptb can be trusted. First point is 50/50 and the second point is no chance in hell.

But trust issues aside, Imo a short sharp lockdown, nipping it in the bud is the only course of action with a genuinely harmful pandemic. mNRA shots are a harebrained experiment that could end up being more harmful than covid in the long term, as well as ironically increasing infection numbers due to the perhaps intentional mixed messages about its ability to stop spread; it was proven some time back that it doesn’t stop the spread, but many didn’t get that memo, getting vaccination and then mixing willynilly thinking they now couldn’t catch it or give it. It’s almost as it Pfizer/gov wanted it to spread 🤔

My apologies for going on a bit. Serious hangover has negated my already poor skills at self editing 😬

They had some masks again at work made available if anyone in customer service wants them. I took one and blew my nose in it and threw it in the trash. They can be useful. Note: They didn't have paper towels or tissues available or I would have used that instead.
