Went to Wal Mart this afternoon to get cat food and you know what they had ? Winter coats. They've already got Winter stuff on the racks and it's the middle of August.

The forecast for my area...

Tomorrow - 106

Monday - 111

Tuesday - 115

Wednesday - 110

Thursday - 108

PRETTY DAMN SURE I'M NOT GONNA NEED A COAT.

Just to put a little more icing on the cake, some of the shops already have stuff out for Halloween. I mean, it's only 2 1/2 months away so you better get it before it sells out.

Yea I noticed the Halloween stuff here as well. I actually thought about just buying some it now, because the prices will probably inflated an extra 15% at least for those candies by October. Or maybe not. I didn't pay attention to the boxes that have the prices , did they end in 88's as usual or were they even 00's?
Usually when they end in double zeros there will be an increase between Halloween.

I noticed the same when I went to Costco last week. Heavy, hot, fluffy, blankets - EVERYWHERE!

This was in Phoenix, AZ. The outdoor temp was 109. I had bat wings from 1 minute of loading the vehicle…

Maybe we should take it as a sign to prep…

Plot twist: it's not for this year's winter, but next year's winter

Already saw evidence of Christmas # at Meijer this week (still on the pallet, but CLEARLY a bunch of Christmas-specific themed door wreaths)

I love the hell out of autumn in general & adore all the Christmasy atmosphere, both at the appropriate times of year.
It's AUGUST, knock it off already!

People getting ready for holidays. My dad says he has all the Christmas gifts bought already. Maybe you can buy coats early for the winter coat drive donation? As far as halloween... the dollar tree was loaded! I was like tomorrow I'm going in there with the list of stuff I need for my Lil prek 3's before they put Thanksgiving things out in a week.

We have gingerbread already in the supermarkets. In August. By the time it is Christmas, you won't get any and the ones you get are stale because they are like 6 months old. So insane!

I know that in January, they already make room for the chocolate Easter bunny treats.

I've been noticing trees turning for two weeks now, but that doesn't mean I need Halloween yet, it's harvest season, something people are ignoring. Like Thanksgiving. The retail stores go from Halloween to Christmas and usually give Thanksgiving and the harvest festivals a pass. You might see something about football season-opening games or Octoberfest and some other ethnic pride festivals, but Thanksgiving is gone.

The liberals likely believe that we shouldn't celebrate how the Native Americans saved the Pilgrims from starving to death and that we should give thanks for our harvests and good fortune. Can't have people giving thanks to anything but our "dear leader", the government, "the science", and wokeism.

The Dollar Store I go to here started putting out boxes of Halloween candy about 3 weeks ago! In July! Nothing really new about that, but it's ridiculous.

You guys know this isn't all that odd, right?
They've been putting out winter clothes/back to school in summer for decades.
Halloween candy usually goes up right after school supplies dry up as school starts.

If it starts earlier now, probably because all the stuff we get from Asia is here, and there's no where to keep that amount of inventory anymore, so onto the shelves it goes.

Now, about those turning leaves:
www.mlive.com...

It’s not abnormal for us to see a tree here and there to be showing some fall colors at this time of year. The most common reason for individual trees to have some early fall color is stress. We’ve had a lot of stress this growing season. It’s not just drought stress that can make a tree change colors. Wet stress from heavy rain can do it too.
