Just a cursory search.

You spoke often and loudly on the subject from what I remember.

Boom goes the dynamite 🧨

Fizzle more like.

The quoted post did not advocate for people to be locked into their homes.

I spent some time pondering specifically what is it about when Trump was president that made it so memorable.

I finally straightened it out.

Every day I woke up and knew, down to the marrow of my spirit, today has the potential to be an even better day than the awesome yesterday, and day before and day before.

The closest political system to 'Stalinist Totalitarianism' in this world was the Soviet Bloc (that Stalin helped found) and that Putin is trying to re-create.

I am strongly opposed to what Putin is doing, but others are not:

Trump calls Putin ‘genius’ and ‘savvy’ for Ukraine invasion.

Officials have quietly instituted a new draconian measure that forces confirmed and suspected COVID-19 positive citizens and their families into quarantine facilities, with little to no legal or humanitarian recourse available to them.

But in New Zealand, quarantine wasn't in peoples homes.

In New Zealand's case, it was fairly comfortable luxury hotels and motels, and was only for people who had traveled internationally, and only for 14 days or less. The whole system was phased out and the emergency legislation overturned by March 2022.

How many political enemies did that stalanist Trump put in jail?

The American political and judicial systems do not allow for Stalinesque pogroms. However, he has tried:

‘Where are all of the arrests?’: Trump demands Barr lock up his foes

Then, there's this:

In 2020, the Trump administration executed more prisoners than all states combined

Was this 'crackdown' because of a genuine concern over crime rates? Or was it motivated by the same sentiments as this:

You are aware that a former POTUS is under indictment with 100 or so charges, right....?

You are aware that there are j6 prisoners currently without trial or bail..right?

You are aware that there is a man name Harrison Floyd who is locked up in GA...rigth?

And here you are trying to whatabout...and failing, miserably.

Face it dude, you're an authoritarian. Might as well own it at this point.

Well, he did seem to believe he was above the law and so he kept doing things that resulted in indictments.

It has always been the case that bail is denied when there is either a danger that someone will abscond, or if they represent a real and present danger to the wider community.

You are aware that there is a man name Harrison Floyd who is locked up in GA...rigth?

According to Fulton County Superior Court Judge Emily Richardson, Harrison posed a flight risk as well as a risk to commit additional criminal felonies if released on bail.

You're going to want to read up on Article II of the US Constitution and the Supremacy Clause.

So you're doubling down, ok. Yet they have no trial date nor bail. Their rights are being denied and here you are making excuses.

According to Fulton County Superior Court Judge Emily Richardson, Harrison posed a flight risk as well as a risk to commit additional criminal felonies if released on bail.

And this is where you are fine with two standards of justice. Tell me, what crimes did he commit since the first alleged crime? You can't, see how this works?

Are you telling me to own it?

It's a suggestion. Based on all your willingness to have the gov't stomp all over their people.

The worst kind of bootlicker is the one who wants the government to do the work they could never do themselves to someone else.

That clause establishes the supremacy of Federal law over State law. It doesn't put the President above the law.

Additionally, a President also cannot make new laws. As part of their oath of office and according to the Constitution, they must uphold the laws (passed by Congress).

So you're doubling down, ok. Yet they have no trial date nor bail. Their rights are being denied and here you are making excuses.

Bail can be denied if there is a strong likelihood of the accused committing further crimes, or absconding. It does not require that further crimes have already been committed. The law is there to both protect the community and to ensure that the accused will get to court. Many accused people are granted bail by the system, but this guy wasn't.

It's a suggestion. Based on all your willingness to have the gov't stomp all over their people.

Who is stomping all over their people? Surely during the Trump administration, both Federal and State governments in the US did exactly the same things as the New Zealand government, just way more ineffectually?

And as far as international ratings go, New Zealanders just have far more freedom than Americans:

Freedom Index by Country 2023.

2023 Index of Economic Freedom

Human Rights Index - Our World in Data

The US isn't even in the top 10, in any of the ratings. Get the hint!

The worst kind of bootlicker is the one who wants the government to do the work they could never do themselves to someone else.

But no-one in New Zealand was locked into their homes by the government as you alleged, and the emergency rules were overturned once the emergency was over, and the head of that government resigned the role voluntarily, well before her term was up (as did her predecessor), so they clearly weren't seeking to retain 'power' (like Trump has).

You live under the thumb of your government, in a country that incarcerates more than just about any other, and where everything is valued in dollar terms, but the average income is a vanishingly small fraction of what the top earners get.

Don't try and paint the rest of the world to be similar, or worse than your situation. There's nothing special to wave your flag about, there.

I have no idea about how many of his political enemies he put in jail. I do know that several of those he determined were 'traitors' and who were once close to him, were jailed. Unsurprisingly, those were people he publicly designated as his political enemies (like Mannafort, Papadopolis and Cohen), but that was after the fact, so perhaps he was just a coward trying to avoid his complicity in their crimes?

And who exactly 'epsteined' Epstein, and what might have been their motive?

But he did call for his political enemies (and even for some of his allies) to be jailed on 'trumped up' charges.

And I think that I am fairly centrist, not extremist.

I have no idea there either.

Nor did I ever say that Biden was "not a stalinist". You are arguing things that you have made up in your head.
