Lansing — The Michigan State Capitol Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to ban weapons from the state Capitol, but added a carveout for current House and Senate lawmakers who have a concealed carry permit.

The amendment adding the carveout for lawmakers passed 4-2, with Commissioners William Kandler and Joan Bauer voting against it. It's unclear how many lawmakers have concealed carry permits.

If you're a proponent of the 2nd amendment, I know you see it.

However, if you find yourself on the side of gun control, how do you feel about politicians being a privileged class of citizen?

In my view, this is not an open violation of the 2nd amendment but certainly a power grab.

"However, if you find yourself on the side of gun control, how do you feel about politicians being a different privileged class of citizen?"

I keep getting told "that's not true! Look at Australia and the UK, they gave up their guns and they're still ALIVE!"

🤷‍♀️

Absolute corruption. Same as when they wanted to defund the police, except of course keep their personal armed guards/security , and off course they would call the cops and they'd get there expeditedly quick

Always the case.

How many gun control advocates have disarmed their security detail?

They were allowed to opt-out of any Covid vaccine mandates.

We take good care of those we employ.

We are granting privileges to a class of people that collectively have a lower IQ than Gender Study graduates.

Yes, I'm talking about politicians.

They are in politics because they sucked at any other job available.

And we allow THEM firearms?

*shudder*

I'm absolutely against red flag laws.

However, I'm starting to see a purpose for them...

Personally, I find their paranoia to be positively delicious. Be scared, YES. Be afraid, YES, YES. Be unsettled and anxious like all your policies and ideologies cause everyone else.

They know that their policies and actions are worthy of a response. They know what they are legislating is unconstitutional and tyrannical. They probably have some pending legislation right now that's not going to be well received but they are MANDATED to push the commie agenda, so it'll be signed right way.

I hope they can't sleep, eat or freely roam about without wondering if. That's how it should be.

The UK was already conditioned to authoritarians and Australia had those comfy covid concentration camps.

No thanks.

I would wager they sleep just fine.

Wouldnt you in a gated community protected with firearms?

Well then that's the way it shouldn't be.

Why do Politicians choose to carry a firearm?

Probably because they know everyone hates them.
