The Secretary of State ate psychedelic mushrooms at a Chinese restaurant in China

Okay I just listened to it on Fox News I don't know if it's brand new news or whatever but she was given psychedelic mushrooms and she doesn't have a taster before she eats the food in China this is getting out of hand really truly getting out of hand I'm sorry but there's just no leadership respect for leadership in America these days.

It’s obvious that Yellen is still tripping to this day.

US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen ate a “magic mushroom” on a recent trip to Beijing, but the aftereffects don’t sound that special.

CNN’s Erin Burnett spoke to her Monday, asking about the “mushroom experience” that set off a social media frenzy and dramatically boosted business for a Yunnan restaurant chain, where Yellen ate the local jian shou qing.

“There was a delicious mushroom dish. I was not aware that these mushrooms had hallucinogenic properties. I learned that later,” Yellen said about the group dinner that clarified that she didn’t organize nor did she do the ordering.

She didn’t have any strange visions, the “Erin Burnett OutFront” anchor joked. Yellen then said that she had “read that if the mushrooms are cooked properly, which I’m sure they were at this very good restaurant, that they have no impact.”

Doesn't appear as a nefarious action and no one was harmed. It's a nogo for me even though the media may think otherwise. For the record I hadn't heard of it so thanks for the heads up so I don't go all cray-cray about Chinese buffets or anything.

For one the dish she ate is only potentially able to cause hallucinations. After it's cooked those properties are removed. Actually a delicious meal. I'm sure you have eaten a variant at some point.
Also please put sources in your OP man. I was barely enjoying my breakfast and coffee and had to look this up...which isn't a big deal but you as the thread creator could have saved me the time.
And also you blew this way out of proportion.

I can't be the only one here who would pay to see Janet Yellen talking economics on a heroic dose of fractal fungus..
Who knows,she may even come up with some good ideas,or at least some not quite as bad as usual ideas.

Heard about this a while back.
There was speculation that the mushrooms were why there was so much bowing going on.

It is akin to the boxers or briefs question that a bunch of derelict people found so "cool" back in the Clinton era. It is an attempt to make Janet appear to be "one of us". I am sure when she gets around to being interviewed about it there will be chuckling and giggling and maybe the interviewer will be all, "oh Janet...you rabscallion...hehehee."

That is all I see it as regardless of what did or did not happen.

There are many mushrooms that must be cooked before eating, for various reasons. Shiitake being one of them. They cause a nasty rash.

Psilobin and pyilosilobin are extremly unstable compounds, any amount or length of heat over 90 f. and they completly break down.

If they were cooked, there were no pyschotropic properties.
