Isn't Grassley one of the people that's currently leading the Congressional investigation into Biden? If he didn't have a problem with Weiss being named as special counsel less than a year ago then surely there's no issue. Unless you're suggesting this whole outrage over Weiss is just political theater.

There it is. The exact logic I pointed out on the first page.

"I didn't see you bring this up then."

That's how it works now...right?

I haven't suggested anything yet.

However, since you asked, what I am suggesting is that they want this closer to home and drag it out for as long as possible after they all got caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

"We do not comment on ongoing investigations...."

They don't comment on ongoing investigations regardless of if a special counsel is involved or not. That's the whole reason Weiss hasn't appeared before Congress.

Oh, but they do...selectively.

Kind of like the relationship between yourself and facts.

It doesn't seem like the Right had any issue with Weiss being named special counsel not that long ago.

Graham, Senate Republicans Call for Hunter Biden Prosecutor to be Given Special Counsel Authority

so the rules are pliable. Nice. If I kill a guy who "needed killin", is it really a crime, or is it like these rules, where it says it's how it is, but they don't really mean it.

If you are cheerleading for Durham, take all he did back, and restore the rules. either they are, or they aren't.

I think the opposition to Weiss is how he dealt with that deal with Hunter that was so sketchy, the judge told them to try again. Seems like regardless of who appointed him, he's sucking Biden's toes.

To me he shouldnt be special council because he already botched this exact investigation. He also more than likely had a hand in the sweetheart deal that they initially wanted to give hunty wunty crack pipe guy - that the judge was so amazed by - that Hunty wunty had to change his plea from guilty to not guilty.

To me, the reason for this is so they can erase the old plea, come up with a new one, and then go judge shopping for one that will see things the hunty wunty way.

I can almost guarantee it.

People like Grassley, Johnson, Hawley, and Blackburn all signed the letter.

It means that they are indicating that R's are a monolith under the umbrella of the GOP.

However, that couldn't be further from truth.

An inverted reflection perhaps?"

BS there is no country on earth which would be impartial. The USA has its fingers in every pie and has either bribed, coerced, or pissed off everyone.

My guess is they're going to pick someone extreme left-wing and point to this "impartial selection process" as an excuse to grant it legitimacy.
