Looks like Burisma will be the lynch pin for two impeachments

I think I can settle this issue.

Since I own a multi-billion-dollar energy company overseas, I hire only American drug addicts to sit on the Board who have been dishonorably discharged from the military. I also insist that he know nothing about the energy business, use hookers and video himself using hookers.

Starting salary is 50,000/month, with bonuses.

So you see?

this is a nothing-burger.

Simple!

Not defending Hunter's position on this board, or the obvious conflict of interest...but y'all know that you typically select board members that have qualities that include mutual interest, skillset/expertise, and business connections right? The last quality being most relevant to this discussion?

Hunter really had none, except the last one which is wholly inappropriate.

Sure. Networking.

However, when that network involves policy direction and profiteering from office?

Are you aware the the reason the international community wanted Shokin gone is because he wasn't investigating corruption? The IMF wasn't willing to invest billions of dollars into Ukraines economy if it was just going to end up in an oligarch's bank account.

Oh absolutely! Last names mean nothing since they usually go by street names like, Slasher, Knifey McKnife-Face, or Hunter!

No, Burisma was under investigation for corruption. They (Burisma) wanted to invest in the US of A but could not attract investors if they were under investigation.

There was no investigation of Burisma. There was an investigation of Zlochevsky that was initiated by Shokin's predecessor but has been put on hold by Shokin.

There was an active investigation into Zlochevsky but that was being done by the Brits.

Well they certainly couldn't say that the reason was the US VPs son, so I do give everyone credit for a decent excuse.

We get it. You like corruption and don't think it should be investigated. There's a name for people like that.

Burisma was under investigation.

KIEV (Reuters) - Ukraine has widened its investigation into the founder of energy company Burisma to include suspicion of embezzling state funds, Prosecutor General Ruslan Ryaboshapka said on Wednesday.

Archer testified that Biden, Zlochevsky and Pozharski stepped away to take make the call.

It is unclear if Hunter and the Burisma executives spoke directly to Joe Biden on the matter.

Okay, so we still have hear-say. Wouldn't the Burisma tapes be concrete evidence that all this actually occurred?

If so, where are they? Why have they not been submitted? This is the evidence the GOP would need to put this to bed...

When do we get to hear the tapes?

Maybe someone overheard a phone call. Seems to be sufficient enough...

Your link clearly states it was an investigation into Burisma's founder, which is Zlochevsky. Specifically, the investigation focused on his time as Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources and not on his role as founder of Burisma.

Your article is also from 2019, which would be three years after Shokin was out of office.

Zlochevsky never said that. In fact, he testified to the exact opposite when he was interviewed by the FBI in 2019.

It should also be noted that the US was hardly the only country putting pressure on Ukraine to get rid of Shokin for his refusal to prosecute corrupt oligarchs. In fact, the tipping point seems to be the IMF refusing to release $17.5 billion unless Shokin stepped down.

how you know other countries leaders are not crooks like biden and had crook interests too?

Don't you leftists know how to Google?

Ukrainian prosecutors opened a criminal investigation into Burisma in 2014 looking into suspected tax violations. In 2016, a Kiev district court said it had found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing by Burisma president and owner Zlochevsky and ordered the Prosecutor General’s Office to remove him from the authorities’ wanted list.

Pointing out that the reason the international community wanted Shokin replaced was because of his unwillingness to prosecute corruption means I support corruption?

You're going to have to explain the logic on that one.
