climate change on Earth..
No, that's call scientific fact
The conspiracy theory is that for the past 50+ years tens of thousands of climate scientists and meteorologists have been paid a vast fortune by the
"government" to perpetuate a hoax in order for said "government" to be able to use it to, er, raise taxes or reduce human population summat .....
Unless the scientific method has changed since I went to school, it goes hypothesis - theory - law.
The idea that humans are causing climate change on a global scale barely qualifies as an hypothesis. It is an assumption that our current climate
change is caused by humans simply because the climate appears to be changing and humans are present.
To qualify as a scientific theory it would have to be tested under controlled conditions with consistent results. For instance, take a continent like
Australia or Africa, remove all the people, then observe and record any changes in climate for, say, 100 years. Then put the people back, wait
another 100 years, and observe and record the results. Do this 10 or 20 times, and if you get consistent results, then maybe you can call it a
scientific theory. In scientific circles, however, 10 or 20 experiments wouldn't get you a lot of credibility.
Simply stated, there is no way to know for certain that humans are causing climate change. We can guess that it is, but there are many other
possibilities that can't be or haven't been ruled out. It could be just a natural cycle of the Earth. Maybe an oncoming shift in the Earth's
magnetic field. It could be a change in the Sun's energy output. It could be that the Solar System has moved into an area of space that has a higher
particle density. It could be a phenomenon that we are totally unaware of.
But in my opinion, the biggest red flag against the "humans are causing global climate change" hypothesis is the proposed solution. Poor people need
to sacrifice, while the rich people get richer.
