Social and civil unrest coming soon to London.

News just out. Planning permission has just been granted for Asif Aziz, a billionaire property developer, to build a three storey Mosque in the old Trocadero building in the middle of Londons entertainment area. Now this area is well known for LGBQ etc. Now imagine when this is built, what trouble it will cause.

Not sure if this will create unrest considering there are already mosques in London. However, there is some potential controversy surrounding Asif Aziz and his Aziz foundation.

Granted, the article does not provide direct sources to this claim, so I can't verify the authenticity of the article.

Islam is the fastest growing religion and I don't doubt that more large mosques will be built in western countries. Personally, I'm a bit conflicted. I don't think any religion should face discrimination. However, Islam is the most oppressive large religion. And its very relectunt to embrace modern ideas of gender equality, LGBTQ, and the freedom to allow people to make fun of their religion.

Checked City of Westminster planning page - found nothing to support this application? Perhaps it is listed as something other than change of use from commercial to place of worship? Would need detailed consents as the building is listed.

Won't be long before the attendance allowance is increased 4 fold as Muslims will say they can't pray as there's not enough room.

Not being funny but there are tons of Mosques/Flags in London and most businesses have a prayer room for Muslims!

The point being is that there is not a lot of Muslims in that area. I could understand this if there was. But it's in the middle of an entertainment area, theatres and clubs etc. and the only reason I could fathom is they are exercising their power by building a Mosque in a place where a Mosque should not be, putting their stamp on the area. So how long till they start complaining about the "debauched" area and the sort of people in that area.

I'm not from the UK, but have seen many Stop Oil protest clips, and just wondering what will happen if these continue and happen to block the route to Friday midday prayers (in London or elsewhere, although Muslims wouldn't be the only people who would have a problem).

It would be rather embarrassing for the neo-Marxist/Labour Party type alliances if the whole thing fractured into open hostility on Western streets, and I can tell you now which group is in zero condition to defend itself without hundreds of cops. Hint, it won't be the Muslims.
