IMO, The United States Senate contains a larger percentage of members who do NOT make "serving my constituents" their top priority, than the U.S. House does...

For those of us who have been trying to awaken people to the true nature of Republicans in the senate, aka “the Decepticons”, the latest self-admissions are very welcome.

According to interviews conducted by The Hill, several republican senators are now saying they just cannot be members of the republican party if they are forced to represent the interests of the base voter.

These very specifically named republicans have always been members of the UniParty in DC; however, now they are saying “populism” amid the commonsense, America-First voting base is not going to be acceptable.

It's fascinating that Senators Murkowski, Romney, Thune, Corning, and other Republicans are coming right out and giving their supporters back home the middle finger!

So, what next? Will they still be re-elected if they become Democrats? I don't think so...but you never know. Maybe a few of the Senators have "Messiah Power" like Donald Trump and Barack Obama possess, and will be re-elected no matter what.

They’re probably tired of supporting the “short bus” candidate.

Even MTG, she appears to be supporting the democrats now.

I suppose it’s sad to see the elderly Trump appearing to be more unhinged, than the supposed demented Biden.

This is the year of JUDAS. People betraying those whom they claim to represent. But it's really jumping off the rails in 2023.

Even Pence recently exclaimed that helping Americans was not his concern.

Crazy Train.

You're right! That wasn't a slip of the tongue either. Former V.P./Presidential Candidate MIKE PENCE consciously exclaimed that what benefits Americans is not a concern of his! I guess that's how you get yourself out of the race fast, without have to make excuses. (Pence: "I can see America wants Trump, so I'm dropping out to support him." Trump: "Get away from me you American hater!"...LOL.)

I remember when these Senate Republicans sided with Senate Democrats to let their Chief of Senate Security off the hook for sharing Top Secret Documents with reporters...because the 2018 document was damaging to President Donald Trump.

You're right... Fuk em!

Yeah…..con artists.
You don’t get it because you have been conned by them.

Let’s play a game……

Name 5 things the Democrats have done since Biden took office to help Americans.
Name 5 things that Trump has done to make you hate him.

The math checks out. 5 corrupted Senators is a corruption rate of 10%. 42 corrupted Congressman is a corruption rate of 9.6%

But what does serving ones constituents really mean?

Hypothetical:

Take Mitt Romney of Utah. Utah is heavy in Mormons. If Utah one day decided to ban alcohol, ideally Romney would have to listen to his constituents and ban alcohol.

But wait! We have the 21st amendment. So, is Romney going to listen to his constituents or follow the constitution?

That's the difference between democracy and republic.

The (R) and the (D) doesn't matter, whether their voting record falls in line with the constitution does.

If the citizens of Utah want to ban Alcohol, and Romney had to power to do so, and he banned alcohol, the citizens certainly wouldn't complain. He'd be easily re-elected, in fact.

About 70% of Republicans are Progressive... roughly 95% of Democrats are Progressive.

So this news isn't even news.

We're pretty much doomed.

But the cheerleaders of both sides who are actually the same side will still fight about it...

Because that's how it works in politics.

Quoted for a rather epic level of irony, considering who our current pResident is.

I was not aware that ATS had an affirmative action policy when it came to moderators.

Are you the short bus one?

Since you used the term, I'm sure it is not derogatory....

Some of them are in this "Get Trump" timeline: theconservativetreehouse.com...-248921

The actors and actions in the timeline are PROOF that our government is too large. Too many people with too much time on their hands. The swamp will be drained BIG TIME if Americans elect Donald Trump President again.

Let's get really hypothetical and that 90% of government is has integrity and ethical standards.

So a majority of people in Utah want to ban alcohol. Members of the Utah legislature feel they should represent the will of their constituency and they pass legislation to ban alcohol. The governor has the option of signing it, saying it represents the will of his constituents, or vetoing it, saying it's unconstitutional. If it is signed into law, chances are it will be challenged in the state court and most likely be ruled unconstitutional.

During that whole process, everyone did their jobs properly and the correct result was achieved.

Mitt Romney might feel that a national ban on alcohol would be the will of his constituents, and propose legislation in Congress. He would realize that it's doomed to ultimate failure. He could even stand up on the Senate floor and say, "Look, I think this is BS. I don't agree with it, and I know it doesn't stand a snowball's chance. But it's what my constituents want, so I'm presenting it."

Who could fault him for that? He would have done his job with honesty and integrity. And if everyone else did the same, the correct result would be achieved.

Congress only 10% corrupt? Psh, we wish.
