A very common problem: If the crime is committed by a republican, the party is named over and over in the article and the headline. If its a democrat, you have to sus that out of the report.
If the crime is committed by a minority, same.

It's just the way it is.

This has nothing to do with politics or race but about murder.

Well if someone is shooting at you from a scooter i tend to agree you should be able to shoot back.

Because you don't watch the local news in these countries. Getting a gun in Germany is not hard. There were cases where people with WBK cards (license to buy a gun, not carry) went crazy.

You will also find news about machetes, knifes and other things. Banning things will not prevent the criminals from getting them and even then, they just use something different.

But again having guns and using them in Germany and other European countries is rather difficult. In comparison to the US gun related crimes in Europe is minimal.

A white male would have triggered a different piece of news by the mainstream media and so different motives.

Technical any crime that involves a measure of violence is a hate crime by my guess.

Thing is that the application of such terminology somewhat diminishes other crimes of a similar nature.

I too have never really figured out just what is a hate crime when all crimes are based on hate. The way I reason it is typically only White people can accomplish hate crimes and so crimes by White people are labeled as hate because it is inferred as racist hate...

I agree with your last sentence but getting a gun (legal) here is not difficult.

The US has historical reasons for gun rights, that will never change. Advocating for more gun control will only prevent the good people from protecting themselves.

A criminal does not care about laws, that is the major problem and also definition of a criminal.
