A Paris suburb mayor said his home was ram-raided and set alight while his wife and children were asleep inside in what he has called an “assassination attempt” on his family amid the unrest that has gripped France following Tuesday’s shooting of a teenager by a police officer.

Vincent Jeanbrun, mayor of the southern suburb of L’Hay-les-Roses, said his wife and one of their two children, aged five and seven, were injured as they fled the building in the early hours.

A tense atmosphere lingered in Nanterre on Saturday following the funeral of a French teenager who was fatally shot by police in the Paris suburb earlier this week.

Arrests continued to mount with more than 1,300 people detained Friday overnight into Saturday and another 121 people arrested Saturday during the fifth night of nationwide protests in France after the 17-year-old’s death, according to the French Interior Ministry.

Family and friends gathered Saturday afternoon local time for the funeral service at a mosque in Nanterre. The funeral was solemn and quiet, according to CNN’s team on the ground, with people waiting in silence for his coffin to leave the mosque and be taken for burial. The teenager has been buried in the Mont Valérien cemetery in Nanterre, CNN’s team reported

Not all "crimes" justify getting shot by Police, surely, certainly not traffic offences?

So... now you're responding to my post wherein I clearly state that he didn't deserve to be shot, by arguing saying that he didn't deserve getting shot?

Like I said, enjoy arguing with yourself...

Oh - and I surely wouldn't want an attorney representing me or my interests who cannot stay on point and argue coherently. I hope you have a decent side gig.

Thanks for your concern.

By the way, I don't have to take on obnoxious clients.

So that situation is unlikely to arise

Paris is such a beautiful city, it's a shame that so many people living there have become so disgruntled, that they're damaging their own beautiful city.
