Aluminum wouldn't survive going through a jet engine to be spewed out behind the plane. A jet engine combustion chamber runs at close to 3100 degrees in a modern engine. Aluminum melts at like 1200 degrees. There would be nothing left after going through the engine.

It goes through the engine and makes the fuel burn more efficiently. It's an additive to make the fuel more efficient similar to something you'd put in your car. The only place it's being released is into the combustion chamber.

Anything sprayed will be in the upper atmosphere above where aircraft will fly, and get into the upper winds so there won't be much sucked into engines. A small amount won't do any damage beyond a little more wear than planned, resulting in earlier engine changes.
