Following social media exchanges between the two Mark Zuckerberg has today agreed to Elon Musk's challenge to get in the Ring.

Twitter owner Musk, 51, said on his social media platform he was "up for a cage fight" with Zuckerberg, 39.

The Facebook founder and Meta chief executive and chairman then captioned a post "send me location" to his 12 million Instagram followers featuring a screenshot of the Tesla and SpaceX chief's message.

In tweets to more than 144 million followers on the site, Musk then said "Vegas Octagon", in reference to the eight-sided caged fighting arena used in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which is based in Las Vegas.

A spokesman for Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, said he had "nothing to add" to the social media posts, which went viral, with users speculating on who would win the bout and posting memes, including mocked-up posters.

Musk, who completed a $44bn (£35bn) takeover of Twitter last October, joked: "I have this great move that I call "The Walrus", where I just lie on top of my opponent & do nothing."

He also tweeted: "I almost never work out, except for picking up my kids & throwing them in the air."

Zuckerberg on the other hand last month won gold and silver medals in his first jiu-jitsu tournament.

I can picture the pasty face pale ginger Zuckerburg doing a perfect round house kick to the nose on Musk and him breaking down in tears, thus ending the fight early in the first round. And after all that, nothing would change, other than Musk would have learned a little about martial arts.

War is dumb and fighting is equally stupid.

Once the fight it over, the same differences still exist, but they guy with the bloody nose isn't the one everyone listens to after that.

Agreed , although seeing these two chasing each other around the Octagon would be amusing , I doubt much fighting would be involved , jiu-jitsu Gold medallist Zuckerburg would be to quick for "The Walrus" to have any effect.

I worked with the "Karate Hottie" Besides being a badass she is a pretty good actress. I shot a lot of this trailer.
Manny of Jackson Wink people are using MMA as a springboard into stunts, acting, theater....you might recognize a few other mma guys in the film.
