How the media are misused

Hope this is the correct forum

I’m astonished by the fact how people expose themselves by targeting whistleblowers instead of researching the real facts concerning mainstream media content. Maybe not

Hopefully this will help waking up some Zuckered sheep.

People don’t need to be woke up. There is nothing in that video about the media that is not already known by anyone that watches the media. Those that watch, pick and chose from the dribble, who and what they want to believe.

We are long past the point where we can claim ignorance, and naïveté.

Does that mean you think a government appointed "minister of information" wouldn't be "fair and balanced"?

Do you think a citizens review board of corporate media wouldn't be corrupted?

Perhaps an elected official that is anointed by God could straighten this mess out.

Why are any of those needed for someone to just report the events?

And our government and “fair and balanced” probably don’t fit in the same sentence.

Some believe that some of our elected officials were anointed by god. I am just not sure which god they were talking about.

Consider: The Media isnt mis-used, its both. Used and Mis-used. You do understand the meaning of "media"?

Its nature...is not right or wrong. Only to present to you...both....

Why do you think we as human beings need any "authority on truth" to tell us their slant on what the truth is? Why can't the so called MSM just spit out facts with out their government approved talking points and biased opinions? That's what the person you replied to was basically saying.

Of course I'm proud of it; I worked my ass off to pay for it. Do you know what a stringer is? Do you know what a non disclosure clause is when you sign a contract?

Broadcast Media makes their money from selling ads to corporations, small businesses and services....

Please explain your process to bankrupt media moguls.

Perhaps you can hire an attorney and file class a action suite against the networks.

Of course I'm proud of it; I worked my ass off to pay for it. Do you know what a stringer is? Do you know what a non disclosure clause is when you sign a contract?

I sure do but you said you were a journalist. You post two links and what I am asking you is what journalism have you done? I have a cheap ass $200 camera that I can go out and film a protest or anything that I might happen to film and post it on the internet and call myself a citizen journalist! I don't have to belong to a union to do it, nor do I have to be afraid of repercussions from a union who disagrees with what I have captured on film. I am free to film anything I want to on public property as a citizen without puffing up my chest like you do! So what great journalism have you done with your expensive equipment that you so love to brag about?

Then that's the way it should be. Business and culture isn't static and in many ways the younger generation is the stimulant for change. Even though on ATS, I'm accused of being a communist; I'm a free market capitalist and believe the consumers have ultimate decisions as to the way the nation progresses or fails. But that being said, don't be so naïve and ignore the powerful forces where you are just a pawn in their game.

I guess I'm a bit more cynical of the younger generation than you are; they actually are buying that crap. Just from a different vendor. When you see a young person totally immersed in their phone...that screen they are obsessed with...that's media even just texting to friends....just like the screen we are looking at now on ATS. Or when you pull up to a 7/11 gas pump and are greeted with a screen inviting you in for a cup of coffee or beer. Media consumption is increasing, it's 1984 deja vu all over again. Big Brother is watching...

And speaking of media...I'm not particularly pleased with the new ATS changes, but guess what...I don't pay the bills to run this free enterprise media
expression. It's none of my business the type of discussions they want to include or the advertisements they want to show or the corporate model they follow. As of now, we are still free to use that on/off switch or watch cat videos on youtube.
