Well, you will have to wait for another world war for that, with its war babies and baby boomers. The Beatles for example came of age in Hamburg, Germany 15 years after the end of the war.

What amazes me with the Beatles is how close they came to being dethroned by CCR in the late 60s. If they had stuck together, it seems to me, we would have a different music atmosphere today.

Tina you were the best... after Whitney of cause. Rest in peace little angel.

Maybe one of her lesser known, but one of the earlier exposures I had to Tina.

We used to watch Tommy and The Wall in high school.

I look at her and then look at the modern pop stars. She endured suffering and got her fame and recognition despite of it. Now today they have fame handed to them although they suffer as part of the deal. They sell their souls to the record companies and become chattel. The same for all entertainers and now probably nearly all politicians.

We all have our faves, absolutely. Keep in mind without Tina, there may have been no Whitney.

I never cared for Tina Turner. Just not my type of music. I did like some of her acting though. And although she was never my thing, I'm certainly sad to see her pass. We can take solace in the fact that she made it to 83 and had a long and storied career.

I admire Tina for her strength in standing up to an abuser.
I admire her for her music.
I admire her for her on-stage energy.
I admire her for acting roles.
I admire her for her business acumen in a tough industry.

She will be missed but has left a legacy in so many areas.

Love it ! Somehow our high school got a print of Tommy and would show it every summer for a dollar. I had already had the movie soundtrack. She will be missed. a reply to: ketsuko

Sh'es tuggin' on my early nineties heartstrings with that one.

I think most of planet Earth misses her, she left behind some wonderful music. Her fans loved and still do love her.
