If this is Tesla’s answer to robots, Boston dynamics look decades ahead.

I just came across this video, these Tesla robots are in their infancy.

Though comparing the agility of the Boston robots is far superior, their movement is too freaking human.

Better speed and agility, though the Tesla fanboys would suck em up.

The Tesla robots may come of age though I know where my money is.

Tesla is attempting to design a consumer level mass production model and not a soldier robot or soldier aid robot. The Boston Dynamics robot technology is mostly classified so the public and industrial consumer will not have it for a long time as compared to the Tesla robots.

I figured that is the case, though do we need these things?

A small number for specific dangerous jobs would be useful but not in mass production into the millions. Then again, electronics don't last long in atomic reactors where they would be most useful.

I hate the fact that Tesla is Elon Musk and not Nikola.

Just imagine what Nikola Tesla could do with today's production technology. Just staggering.

I guess I'm just old-fashioned, or perhaps just old. I could swear I've seen this movie several times before.

It doesn't ever seem to end well, at least for the humans. I think it probably ROCKS for the rest of the world's creatures.

Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result ............

I think Elon is insulting the Tesla name by what he is doing.

When the crap hits the fan, then well blame Tesla.

Though if it takes 3 months to get parts to fix a Tesla car, can u imagine an essential robot out of use for 3 months, it would throw a spammer in the works when they rebuild themselves, slows productivity.

It’s a paradox, all roads lead to the same conclusion.

We’d have free energy, able to use electric cars with over the air power supplies, no batteries needed.

And if you venture out of range of power the car has a small petrol engine to keep you going.

And what happens now when a person gets really sick or injured?

They will probably have strategically located service centers with extra robots available within the hour. Just load in your software and it is the same as the one that broke. Probably on a service contract.

Standard body, just custom software for the job.

You can damn well bet that Elons' Robots know how to drive a Tesla.

No, but you will want one.

A robot with a heavy lift would be very handy in an auto shop and many warehouse jobs if the unit price would be lower than the combined price of pallet jacks, engine hoists and lifts on box trucks.

As long as the service is there to repair quickly not like this example.
