I did not say your post wasn't' nice.
Just found it interesting the way you asked it, as not directed directly to Christians, which leaves that it could be interpreted as assuming all conservatives are Christian.
Maybe I'm just being nit picky. Meh.

But I am curious if you don't want a debate, why even ask the question?
So you can judge others for their answers?
Or maybe you are just truly curious?

Simple really.

Curious. Do you follow them? Or do you just judge other's performance because they name their standard bearer?

bc I lack the imagination to see how someone who says they believe the bible is the literal word of God can take a verse as seemingly black and white as MATTHEW 7:12 and be ok with homophobia and xenophobia.

but for what its worth I did get my answer in the replies.

This reply is so on the money, I want to say reading it was worth your thoughtful investment of time to write it.

In context:

Genesis chapter 1 verse 1: "In the beginning (time) God (consciousness) created (law) heaven (space), and earth (matter).

Don’t understand your question
I said I try
As a Christian, I am allowed to judge other Christians
As a Christian, I am also allowed to judge non christians as well, just not condemn them

I make choices, best of my ability, respect God gave all humanity free will and I don’t think I have the right to decide for others

There are some religion based governments that toss gays off tall buildings. Go and ask how they feel they are following Allah. No? So back off with the homophobia and xenophobia accusations.

Christians in the US are a long way from intolerance and unloving. In fact, there are Christian churches where people are sitting side by side, openly gay, same sex marriages. And every single Christian church Ive ever attended, people of all races are together in worship. I live in the American SW my whole life. My family is multiracial.

Try it sometime. You may have a different opinion of Christians if you did. Some of them aren't even conservative nor republican.

In the meantime, you really do seem bigoted. And should take a look at that.

No, you lack the ability to separate the dislike of an ideology with the treatment of individuals. You seem to think anyone who doesn't agree with you hates you.

Because they're not following the Word of God, i.e. sinning. You don't have to be a conservative to be homophobic and xenophobic, and not all Christians are conservative.

God's law is VERY clear on LGBTQ+ issues, and those who endeavor to live their best life according to scripture strive to follow your referenced passage.

It's a well known fact you can love somebody yet not like them. Nowhere does the Bible command us to LIKE anybody, but we are commanded to love them.

" Live and let live" is the stance of most people who oppose the over-reach of the LGBTQ+ movement, irregardless of party affiliation or political beliefs, yet the propaganda funding this movement spends a lot of time and money trying to convince us otherwise.

Where it gets really hard for any Christian-or decent human being, for that matter is 'loving' mass murderers and child abusers.

in one of my posts that got nuked, i made the point that if the question doesn't apply to you then this thread isn't for you.

But there ARE people in reality who exist who ARE: Conservative, Christian, and homophobes / xenophobes

That was always explicitly who this thread was for.

Don't know why so many people got defensive about a question that didn't apply to them. Maybe I'll make that the topic of another thread?

.....
Love God
Love others
Bit confused why christians don’t follow those rules myself

Then you say you are allowed to judge other Christians.... but you were not clear about who you are allowed to condemn.

What Christians dont follow those rules? You seem oddly condemning of your peers as a whole.

I don't feel entitled to judge others of any stripe. I can only set boundaries for behavior that I will or will not tolerate near me or minors in my family. And stay away from those that don't respect me and mine.

I don't know anyone that identifies as homophobic or xenophobic, so your filter will most probably return a limited number of conservative Christians.

I don’t see anything wrong or unfair re your question
Jesus taught those who would follow Him two commandments
Love God
Love others
Bit confused why christians don’t follow those rules myself
I try

Christians do follow those rules.

But like Christ, Christians do not endorse sin

I think he was speaking clearly. What is it you don't understand about loving others? I know also that His statements do not contradict scripture that explicitly command that a man does not lay with another man, as he would with his wife. There is no contradiction there.

All right. Let me ask you a question:

A man decides he is actually a woman in a male body. Because of this, she suffers acute discomfort changing in a male locker room with men as women would despite her biologically male body.

So this individual demands access to change with other women to avoid this discomfort.

Here's the question - How is this not subjecting the women in that changing room to the very same discomfort? These women are now changing with a biologically male body in their midst which provokes the same discomfort that individual claims to be needing to avoid.

Where is Do Unto Others here? I only see one person avoiding discomfort at the expense of subjecting many others to that same discomfort.

Despite popular perception brought on by our openess in speaking our frank opinions here, most of us probably treat most everyone we interact with the same way we treat everyone else regardless of checked diversity boxes or lack thereof.
