According to CNBC and The New York Times, a top Disney official sent a memo to employees Thursday explaining the campus will no longer be constructed and none of its employees in Southern California will relocate to Florida. It was expected to bring more than 2,000 jobs in digital technology, finance and product development.
“Since we first announced this project, several dynamics have changed, including a change in company leadership and evolving economic and business conditions,” Vahle said in a statement.

You can't pin all this on Ron. Disney lost 3.6 million subscribers to it's streaming service and has been laying off employees. The theme parks are making money, but some of their films bombed and that's a hit to the wallet.

I am not pinning anything on anyone.
They did, I am just reporting this #.
My opinion on Desantis has soured since
he is stabbing Trump in the back, can not trust
someone with a character like that now.
It definitely is his fault though all those extra billions in revenue
are going to be lost and the people are going to suffer so
he can grandstand and show how big his thing is.

Many Disney employees balked at the company’s relocation plans when they were first announced in July 2021 by former CEO Bob Chapek. While some left the company, or transitioned to other posts within Disney that would not require a move to Florida, others held out hope that the plan would fizzle out after a postponement. The campus was originally slated to open in 2022-2023, but was later delayed to 2026.

Disney (DIS) will lay off thousands of more workers this week as it looks to slash 7,000 jobs by the summer.
This week marks the second round of job cuts following a first round that began the week of March 27. Disney officials said Monday that at the completion of this second wave, 4,000 jobs will be eliminated.
The eliminations will occur across the company’s business segments, including Disney Entertainment, ESPN, and Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. They will also happen across the country, from Burbank to New York and Connecticut.
Disney CEO Bob Iger announced in February that the company would reduce 7,000 jobs either through not filling positions or layoffs.

Relax.
It's not as if Disney is moving the build elsewhere.
It is being cancelled because prior to the annoucement, they were already firing thousands because of their business downturn following epic woke movie fail after epic woke movie fail.
