Maybe it was my upbringing or something but it has always been self apparent to me that a 100 pound woman being threatened or attacked by one or two men needs to call upon the great "equalizer" called a fire arm. Hopefully a woman/lady has been trained and knows what she is doing or the gun can be taken away from her and used in very impolite ways...possibly on herself..

The following video is about women who are the fastest growing group of gun owners in America and....I DO NOT BLAME THEM ! The video also includes some of the stories as to why these ladies have decided to depend on themselves for their own protection. youtu.be...

Now the problem seems to be even if you are being robbed or attacked some idiot D.A. will go after you for defending yourself instead of the prep; which seems to be all part of the program of destroying our society. Better to be judged by a jury than carried by six to a grave still rings true IMO ...

There is a old saying: God made all men but colt made all men equal.

Even just a little .22 pistol can be a great equalizer if there is a problem. Especially a small compact one that can literally hide in a pocket or purse.

Even a Derringer can work as a deterrent in a pinch.

I read about this yesterday and really liked what this woman said.

"Quite honestly, [guns] make me nervous," McCoy told Fox News. "You always hear about the accidents, of course little kids getting shot at. It's, to me, very intimidating. And so I want to be more comfortable handling them."

Instead of the usual "I don't like guns, guns are dangerous, FEAR THE GUNS", she took a different approach. She educated herself. She took the time and effort to learn how to use it safely. Maybe if more people would do this, instead of the kneejerk "ban guns" reaction we'd all be better off.

Lol, her initial description of her original fears, is funny.
She was paralyzed with fear that the gun would be crawling around the house looking for a baby to sit next to.
That’s the left’s entire understanding of guns, in a nutshell.
For the poor undeserved misunderstood thug, “the gun made him do it, and the gun came looking to shoot somebody”.

American Arms .22 magnum mini-revolver with the folding handle. 5 rounds, hollow points. Best little pocket pistol out there. No imprint at all, carry two.

Agree 22 with hollow points aim for the chest or face. The wife always has one on her. A co worker stole her purse once and told management she carried. Both got fired co worker went to jail. Wife got a better job just by word of mouth within a week.

Great story. Good to see the babyish lefty pay the price, and the motivated independent citizen do well.
Kinda sorta the whole basis of America.

I love it when a white leftist giggles “hahahaha the blacks are all getting guns”.
It’s pitifully obvious that they think black people shouldn’t be allowed to own guns. Just can’t help snarking about something/ anything.
A real American / 2A supporter wants every competent citizen to own a gun or 3, safely and wisely. When a BLM, antifa, MS 13, or cartel “visitor” is in your house, the police are only 5 minutes away.

I disagree with the .22. Go with a .380. A bit more stopping power for just a little more recoil.

I grew up in the country. My Dad took me to the range, which was our backyard, when I was 8 years old. I did not know a home that did not have a gun. We were taught at young ages, boys and girls, to respect guns and how to use them.

Just because the guns were not registered to us girls did not mean that we did not have them or have access to them. Now I can only speak for the time I was growing up and for my area in Maryland/Virginia area. But I am sure a fair amount of women in the city have access to guns as well.

Times change, but it seems there are far more guns now than ever before. I think that women are buying more guns on their own, instead of relying on Dad, husband, boyfriend, or uncle to provide.

As a woman who has a husband who owns a lot of guns, I have shot plenty. I am still slightly fearful, and that fear provides me with a healthy respect for said firearms. I am wholly cognizant of the damage they can do and that fear causes me to be extremely careful and safe. So I would counter that this is a good thing, and I am not a liberal.

What I do understand is that I need more training to carry comfortably.

I do agree in principle, but the magnum load and hollow point do help. It’s a great thing to have as a backup to a semi auto that may jam. The 9mm carry guns are amazingly small nowadays.

I agree with you totally. I always remind myself about how amazingly damaging a singly gunshot is to a body. And it should be a sobering thought to every owner / hobbyist. All gun carriers should remember that the rule is to “get away without shooting” every time if possible. But once it’s made impossible for you, and your (or loved ones) life is threatened…… not your fault.

I just like to have a laugh at the lefties who think the gun is the cause of it being shot, and / or run around screaming that a gun has been seen somewhere in their town. Typically on a cop of some sort.

Exactly You wouldn't want to work in a Factory Full of Dangerous Machinery if you were not Trained on that Machinery.
Guns are something you don't need to Handle if you have no Training.

Have to say I agree here...for a slight bit more kick you dont have to worry so much about shot placement nearly as much. My favorite being the Bersa models out of Brazil of all places.

I am 37 and every house I ever lived in had multiple firearms. At my grandparents house they kept a shotgun behind the front door and a few rifles in the closet as well as many pistols all over. I learned gun safety at about the same age of 8. Owned my first .22 rifle at 11 and by 12 had my own shotgun to hunt with. Growing up there was never any issues with any of the firearms around me or my little brother and honestly any of the people I knew growing up through many different schools/areas. Nit sure what exactly is the issue these days but its certainly not the guns fault...
