just a short little rant.

woke up this morning at the butt crack of dawn. my frickin three legged cat carrying on wanting to go out at 5:15 am, on a saturday morning the little _____er!

got up let him out, tried to go back to sleep, that didn't happen. so i made the coffee sat down in front of the idjet box to see if there was any spun dirt about woketardness, we got him now, or old farty lying again. started running the lame stream media shannels and low and behold every damn one of them was running The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. and has been on now for 4 hours.

WTF is that about .

listen I know it's a big event for many in the UK, and worth reporting about in the U.S. and the world. but to run that boring dragging a@@ sh@@ for 4 hours is unnecessary. we're not the UK, and him being King doesn't really make much of a difference here. it's not going to change our life any and i don't really think it will change many peoples lives in the UK.

as far as i concerned it's time to can that sh@@. being a royal isn't all that glamorous or special, just ask the little whiny princesses meghan lol.

I am in the UK and feel the same way.

Even the local Pub (Wales not England btw) has bunting out. Being next to the Senedd, theres some stuff going on as well.

Heading to town to find a boozer with either no TVs or just Sport

ETA: for one, I agree with the local rag :-

www.walesonline.co.uk...

If you're sick of this endless coverage of the King and Royal Family then you're not the only one
The pageantry and non-stop coverage is ridiculous. This is because the UK is not a union of four equal nations. It is all Charles’
kingdom we just happen to live in it.

He was born!!! Don't you know that makes him extra special? That's a major achievement , more hard work than studying/working to become a doctor, lawyer , engineer
I'm sure there were years involved studying how to be born

We have a Monarchic constitution.
We tried Republicanism a couple of times in our loooooong history. That didn't go well.
We can't be held responsible if all your news channels decide to broadcast the whole ceremony.
Are you in a Commonwealth country may I ask?

i know that, which really doesn't make much since seeing how the monarchic has very little power and just basically a figure head. and always is puttin on the dog.

i didn't say that your country was responsible, what i said was it's not all that important a deal for us in the U.S. as far as changing our lives, and just a basic report about it or just even highlights is all that is needed.

My Mum was British, and she would have loved to have seen the Coronation.
She always told me that the British people hold their Royal Family in high esteem.
I know things in the world have changed, but isn't the Royal Family a tradition, they represent a major world power.
I especially enjoyed seeing Camilla looking so elegant, and William kissing his Dad.
Very regal. Nice to see some happiness in this strange new world.

depends on the culture, there are some cultures that are totally depraved and yeah they should be canceled with prejudice, in this case no. as i said i know it's a big deal for some in the UK, and it's fine for you folks to do your thing there. but it's not all that news worthy to all of the world nor does it effect many of their lives.

At least the UK is not getting a senile, dementia ridden walking corpse as their head of state.

I think...

Wondering the same here. Should be on UK channels for those who want to watch. But why is this such huge "news" ? We all knew it would take place.

Programming. Gotta show all the pomp so the peasants watching will be properly impressed ... except many of those channels are broadcasting to channels in countries where the ceremonies of British royalty mean little.

And entertainment. Which is what the "news" mostly is these days.

Cheers

I was happy to watch!

I know it's not for everyone, but it's a very big deal to many people. All over the world.

As I understand it, the BBC was responsible for providing the livestream. I suppose they could have offered exclusive coverage to one broadcaster here, but I guess they chose to provide it to anyone and everyone who wanted to broadcast the service.
