On Wednesday, Florida Gov. Ron Desantis, signed in a sweeping education bill that the left is calling racist and transphobic.

The first portion prevents staffers and students from being required to use "preferred pronouns". Not a bad idea, considering there are some states that want to make it a criminal offense to not refer to someone in their "preferred pronouns".
Then we move on to banning schools from teaching gender identity and sexual orientation up to the 8th grade. It also allows challenges against school books that critics argue are inappropriate for children. The idea, according to supporters, is to protect children from sexualized content.
We've hit on the "transphobic" topics, now on to the so called "racist" aspect,
The House bans colleges from using state or federal funds for developing or promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs. Citing them to be racially divisive.

Do you have any numbers that might support your theory?
Most of the Republicans I know are all for this. They are sick and tired of the "woke" BS and glad to see someone finally growing a pair and doing something about it.
Yes, it is true fads die out over time, but just like with this one, it doesn't hurt to have things set in motion to start slowing it down.
Putting food on my table, gas in tank, etc, is how I plan to vote

Anyone who votes on the trans hill is either a zealot or way richer then I am ... or a moron.

Agreed.
So why are Republicans making the Trans issue such an important part of their strategy? And seem to hardly talk about putting food on your table and gas in your tank?

If this is the only thing that is making them vote Dem, they are sorely misinformed on what the left has done since 2020.

Democrats don't talk about it either. They just talk about hating everyone who doesn't love them.
Oh, and this independent isn't voting for the progressive agenda. Republicans suck, but Democrats have damn near destroyed the country.

Most of the Republicans you know plan to vote Republican no matter what I assume. Is the Trans issue really the make or break for them to get out the vote? Who did these Republicans you know vote for in 2020, and did that person win the election?
While its clear that the Republicans are trying to court the vote of and energies the Republicans you know ... is that really a winning strategy? Do the Republicans you know plan to vote for Democrats if the trans issue isn't fought tooth and nail? Because I guarantee that there is a large group of independents who plan to vote Democrat because they don't like the propaganda they hear about Republicans on this issue.
