Read similar things happening with gay dating apps (geared towards men). You can't reject or even put on your profile not into trans (this case, a woman pretending to be a man). Not even allowed to have a preference on a man. So they block, to avoid getting reported but blocks are limited in free mode, so eventually they re-appear and try again or get confrontational. In their quest to be inclusive, and excepting, and loving of everybody, no matter what. They have obliterated their own personal choice on selecting somebody.

Not even just limited to trans folk, same nonsense taking place for simply have a personal choice tied to racial category etc. They report others for not answering back and since some systems temp ban till someone see its to review, it locks profiles or keep spamming you in messages. Remember, only paid can hide status. Basically, the features to avoid harassment are under a pay wall. (no block limit/hide online stats)

The idea of politicizing sexual attraction seems rather futile; none of us can control whom we find ourselves attracted to. And not wanting a dating app to keep showing you people you aren't attracted to seems reasonable enough. 'Her' appears to be engaging in a self-deselection exercise here, a kind of do-it-yourself cull of its members, for ideological reasons. They'll take a commercial hit for this.

All it really amounts to is a market opportunity for a new app serving lesbians who don't want to play with aftermarket-modified men. Hardly a thing for anxious conservatives to get all hot and bothered about.

This opinion piece in what most people regard as a centre-left newspaper seems to bring a breath of sanity, in the unlikely event that anyone's interested in that.

The problem is there will be no place they can go that the problem can't follow. The problem has no sense of decency, and modern attitudes on discrimination won't allow formal disallowing of the people in question without all kinds of legal problems.

I still don’t think this is as funny as the trans men warring with real guys identifying as trans men.

Totally agree it’s dumb, of course preferences is the main point. I was just trying to reason out what kind of logic the site used to ban people ? What if someone preferred redheads, are blonds and brunettes being discriminated against ? IDK, the whole thing is ridiculous !

I'm not sure I get you.

There are standards of behavior, yes, but no one can be disallowed for sexual orientation, etc. We are talking about transgenders being disallowed because they harass women who only sleep with biological women, and not women who are physically male.

If a man identifies as a woman and then claims to further be a lesbian, he technically belongs there under modern woke rules.

Above Top Secret is an example of a reasonably hermetic internet refuge for people whose views are largely unacceptable in the wider world online. It is quite easy to imagine others. All that's needed, surely, is for someone to launch a lesbian dating site/app that excludes transsexuals. If you can have an exclusively lesbian dating app, you can certainly have a trans-exclusionary lesbian dating app.

There is - I am told - quite a niche porn market for men dressed as women. Gay, or bi men attracted to men, even those dressed as women (or dressed as rabbits, for that matter), heterosexual women attracted to men dressed as women, as a bit of a kink. Who cares?

But, a lesbian is same sex attracted - by definition it's woman → woman attraction, and preference. By default, a lesbian would be unhappy when the willy was revealed.
