Our media and Dems will go on a "ban guns now" tirade. Seems to me it's the medication that needs to be banned.

Agreed 100%.

At the very least, the people taking these drugs should be monitored closely for any adverse effects, including homicidal and suicidal ideation. If necessary, hospitalize until medical providers can be sure the patient is not suffering adverse effects. Yes, that would be cumbersome and require more effort, but if that's what it takes to be sure the patient will not harm themselves or others, then that's what needs to be done.

A VA mention?

This makes me more than a little suspish of a "vets R dangerous" spin incoming.

I'm more inclined to blame the drugs... especially if the guys been prescribed Ativan but couldn't get more when needed. Or if he was given something different instead, how that would have reacted with any other drugs in his system (including residual Ativan).

maybe Americans are just crazy in general and banning guns might actually fix many of our issues that seem to center on paranoid schizophrenia, a nation of crazy people dont deserve to be trusted with handling guns if you think about it rationally, let alone voting.

The vast majority of Americans are not crazy and they have every right to own and use a gun. Keeping the crazies away from guns is the challenge and outlawing them for everyone isn't the answer.
