in theory that sounds great. But you still have to get some thick headed idiots who have been programmed to believe that just by "believing", you can become another gender. Those are the ones who cannot answer that simple question.

We still have an uphill climb on this one.

Good point. If one believes it's possible to change sex, they will find a way to include those they believe have changed sex.

So any declaratory legislation would have to stipulate "at birth" or "from birth", but then we get back to "assigned" their sex at birth but they were really and truly ALWAYS that sex...

When words mean whatever folks want them to mean, any definitive and declaratory legislation would be re-defined as well.

They can't even answer what is a woman let alone have a meaningful debate.

As happy as I am to see state legislatures taking steps to protect women's sports, I've been thinking about the piecemeal way they are going about it, and I'm wondering if maybe it wouldn't be more effective to address the legal definition of "woman/girl", which would have the effect of protecting ALL the rights of female persons -- sports, single-sex spaces, harassment, rewards/awards, etc.

A simple declaratory bill designating that "woman/girl" is defined as and inclusive to ONLY females would address all the known issues as well as future yet-unknown issues.

If there are more people with the support of politicians and scientists pushing for the actual definition of woman as seen in biological terms then the issue will be dealt very easily.
