Today Ive been feeling like some old classic rock and rhythm and blues ....
My Dad (RIP) got an old Wurlitzer Jukebox one with the curved glass front from a diner that went OOB back in the early '70s, he put it down in our
half-finished basement with a pool table and an old refrigerator. We spent a lot of time down there because we had no AC in summer though we froze our
butts off the winter but he was with us more often than not and taught all 4 of his children ages 7-14 how to play pool boys and girls.
there were no allowances or paid-for chores, but we'd walk around collecting bottles and get the deposit and occasionally play him for money and he'd
take every cent. LOL he'd give it back though, and tell to us not ever play for money LOL.
When we got older he played my brother and I for our first paychecks, at 20 bucks a game he took it all it about 2 hours. Each time he'd let us sulk
a little bit and give back, saying I told us semi-laughingly not to play for money....
No doubt a lot of my appreciation for a wide variety oi music comes from my Dad
Apologies for the ramble, we spent a lot of Sundays in the spring and summer in that basement with him.
While Living in the USA wasn't in the jukebox it's from that era Mustang Sally was and loads of other now-classic tunes like the Spirit in the Sky,
Green Eyed Lady, The Letter, Cherokee Nation, The Beat Goes On, etc
but really dig the Leo's metal plated version
