Joe Biden visits Belfast as PSNI confirm 'security breach'
It has been reported a confidential document was found on a Belfast street by a member of the public
The PSNI says it is investigating a "security breach" in relation to the US President's Northern Ireland visit.
Joe Biden landed in Belfast International Airport last night, at around 9pm, and was met by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. He travelled into the city centre late on Tuesday night, ahead of a full day of engagements on Wednesday.
Hours before President Biden is due to speak at Belfast's Ulster University Campus, BBC's Nolan Show reported that it's been shown a document linked to the visit. The document, reportedly found on the street, was marked "PSNI and sensitive".
The document had lists and names of police officers in charge of the area, the BBC has reported.
A PSNI spokesman said: "We are aware of a security breach.
"An investigation has commenced and we have notified the Senior Information Risk Officer.
"We take the safety of visiting dignitaries, members of the public, and our officers and staff extremely seriously and will put the appropriate actions in place."
