All Govts lie to us. Those of us who are much, muuch older than 20 are generally more than capable of sorting the wheat from the chaff.
Then what are you criticizing me about?
Look, whippersnapper.... I'm old enough to remember the Gulf War of 1991. Only years later did we find out that our government told the most outrageous lies to drum up support for the war. There were hysterical reports on TV about how the evil Iraqis were cutting off Kuwaiti women's breasts, and going into hospitals and killing newborn babies. Turns out it was pure 100% fiction. The claimed atrocities were, literally, made up whole cloth by the Kuwaiti leaders, and repeated uncritically by the media.

Maybe you're talking about some other version of the leaked numbers. I know there was at least two. But the lower version I saw was ludicrously low. Only 43 dead Russian soldiers per day.

Fort Bragg Air National Guardsman is "The Leaker".
www.wsj.com...
I guess they weren't so "sensitive" after all. Only TOP BRASS has access to the really Top Secret stuff...right?

No. Properly done, access is granted to those with the requisite clearance AND the need to know. Rank is not a factor.

I would tend to agree, except that the intel community has always granted itself special privileges. A lot of the worst security scandals were brought about by IC personnel.

They are saying this Jack Teixeira guy is 21 and a member of the intelligence wing of the Massachusetts Air National Guard.
He can't be that high up in rank at such a young age-so how did he get clearance to see so much classified info?
A lot of the info like the US spying on friendly countries, and even the ukraine info doesn't even seem to be "needed to know"by the national guard anyhow,as they are a domestic force.
Isn't classfied info supposed to be compartmentalized for only those who need to know?
It should be for security reasons, but not in this case by the looks of it.
