Protesters Clash Against Security Forces; Set Macron's Favorite Restaurant On Fire | France Protest
There have been signs that the two-and-a-half month protest movement is starting to lose some momentum and unions will be hoping for a mass turnout on the 11th day of action since January.
All sides in the standoff are awaiting the verdict on 14 April over the reform from France's Constitutional Council, which has the power to strike out some or even all of the legislation.

Let's think about the overall protest... It is based on raising the age from 62 to 64 for pensions. France is like broke, they can't even pay their healthcare system much less pensions and people do not want to work anymore, so here we are.

It really made my day it was important enough to get your 18-word contribution.
It pleases me that you took time to count them. Actually it suprised me that you could actually count.

Not necessarily a good or smart act.in itself, but it may make people and entities have second thoughts about being associated with the damned commie-dictator-wannabe. The actual long-term benefits of that are debatable, but time will tell. After all, you gotta break some eggs to make an omelette.

Agreed. On the surface, though, was the target logical and did it cause the desired effect? I'm all for violence when it's necessary. And that's what war is for, destroys the innocent along with the guilty and lots of property and real assets. But protesting by commoners and destroying establishments that the common person has built up, spent their blood, sweat, tears & money, provides a benefit to the community etc., I have a hard time with that.
I guess because I have been a business owner and I'm a simple commoner who has worked hard all my life.

France has been in trouble for years now, so we just do not know how bad it really is when it was already bad like 10 years ago. Something is driving all this at what maybe people see as tyrannical measures to maybe prevent it all from coming down like a house of cards like Greece did.
