I got to admit the French don't let up, it's got to be domestic and organic. It's so French to burn his favorite restaurant. Protests popping up here and there. FWIW if anybody wants a possible WWII analogy, France was fairly riotous prior to WWII.

Protesters Clash Against Security Forces; Set Macron's Favorite Restaurant On Fire | France Protest

There have been signs that the two-and-a-half month protest movement is starting to lose some momentum and unions will be hoping for a mass turnout on the 11th day of action since January.

All sides in the standoff are awaiting the verdict on 14 April over the reform from France's Constitutional Council, which has the power to strike out some or even all of the legislation.

Boy, that'll show HIM! Burn down an establishment that provides service, a product and jobs to multiple individuals simply because the man you want to 'hurt' frequents it.

This is a big fail and a sign that people are truly devolving. But for some issues, violence is truly the only way to send a message. Who they actually hurt, that's a different story. But hey, A for effort.

Let's think about the overall protest... It is based on raising the age from 62 to 64 for pensions. France is like broke, they can't even pay their healthcare system much less pensions and people do not want to work anymore, so here we are.

Earth shattering news. Eating house goes up in flames.

This is going to change the course of history.

That maybe so but it's another case of ccp bailout (buy out). France is a case of sell what they can to China more than Australia in my opinion. I'm from the uk and ccp Tencent has such a hold on my country behind the scenes its wild.

Not necessarily a good or smart act.in itself, but it may make people and entities have second thoughts about being associated with the damned commie-dictator-wannabe. The actual long-term benefits of that are debatable, but time will tell. After all, you gotta break some eggs to make an omelette.

To be fair, France was protesting for 10 months prior to Macrons pension edict.

There are multiple issues involved, a big one being France's NATO involvement.

The pension thing isn't so much about the pension age being raised (though, that too), but more about issuing unilateral edicts via tyranical measure without following the Constitution.

Worthy cause if you ask me.

Some tourist asked for "French fries"... That will always cause something like this there.

Apologies I didn't see any Baba Vanga news, didn't she used to have visions on or around Easter? Regardless

It really made my day it was important enough to get your 18-word contribution.

France has been in trouble for years now, so we just do not know how bad it really is when it was already bad like 10 years ago. Something is driving all this at what maybe people see as tyrannical measures to maybe prevent it all from coming down like a house of cards like Greece did.

It's a public forum. And, violence is violence, regardless of which country it is enacted or one resides in. Capisce?

Maybe I should only read and post in the forum "Topics related specifically to USA and it's citizens". Oh wait, there's not one.

Agreed. On the surface, though, was the target logical and did it cause the desired effect? I'm all for violence when it's necessary. And that's what war is for, destroys the innocent along with the guilty and lots of property and real assets. But protesting by commoners and destroying establishments that the common person has built up, spent their blood, sweat, tears & money, provides a benefit to the community etc., I have a hard time with that.

I guess because I have been a business owner and I'm a simple commoner who has worked hard all my life.

Don't misunderstand, I don't support violent or destructive protests, ever.

It was like the bar owner pleading "Im one of you" to the crowd as they burned his business down. I can't stand that, it accomplishes nothing and damages innocent people.

Our building got shut down due to COVID as soon as it opened up we had protests and vandalism right at the front entrance it was all in the local news, and it destroyed our traffic for months after that.

Yea, that's what Macron is saying.

I don't think they're convinced though.

Wasn't the EU supposed to solve this sort of thing? lol
