They can ask all they want. And I know they do and to think otherwise is just naive. But we here at ATS know this.
The real question was did they break their own T&C with a deal with the gubment?
Technically no they did not.
So now Twitter is in repair mode and doing what they can to rebrand. And good on them as they should have done so way before Musk took over. I'm still never going to use it and I would advise other to do the same, but you do you.

Stop getting hung up on T&C...it has nothing to do with the 1st amendment. The act of the government intervening in the speech of others is against the highest laws of our land. Twitter is a private company which can get away with those things for now...but as soon as it does so one behalf of a government request as we have now seen, thats when it crosses the line.

On a side note I don't use any social media and haven't for going on probably 15 years. I saw these issues way back when and dropped off of it pretty quickly.

Anyone that thinks the Twitter Files are not a smoking gun is an ideolog or intellectual child. The Biden administration directly censored and silenced American citizens that had a different opinion than they did. This is a pretty simple issue that the MSM and you seem to either miss because you don't understand it or or you ideology prevents you from admitting you are wrong. Also, Taibbi was good in the interview. Hasan tried "gotcha" journalism and failed.

For anyone that actually delved into the Twitter Files or listened to Taibbi's embarrassing testimony before Congress, then this shouldn't come as news.

In short, Taibbi is either an idiot who didn't understand what he was reading or he was intentionally lying (which could cause him some legal issues if proven) but either way his Twitter Files narrative is complete bunk.

But don't take my word for it. Taibbi's bumbling and stumbling is linked in the article I provided for all to see.

In other Twitter censorship news, Elon currently has Twitter set so you can't retweet or reply to any tweet that contains a Substack link. So far he has not explained the reason for this censorship.

I agree that we are not getting the whole truth from Matt , but to think that the alphabet agencies aren’t using social media for intel & propaganda is silly imo.
