A freight train derailed in Paradise, Montana, on Sunday, according to the Sanders County Sheriff’s Office.
Approximately 25 cars were derailed around 9:20 a.m. near Highway 135, dispatcher Bill Brown told CNN. The train derailed on the banks of the Clark Fork River, approximately 200 miles northwest of Bozeman. Images from the scene show some of the cars in the river.
The sheriff’s office did not provide information on what the train was hauling. However, Brown said there did not appear to be any hazardous materials onboard.
so thankfully the propane car didnt make it into the water and isnt leaking, line is out for a bit with half the cars being in the tunnel so it will take a while to clear though (2-3 days) and you cant get to it by road so the local pd is having to use the water rescue boat to assess stuff and attempt to move stuff
Officials with Montana Rail Link were working to determine the cause. Company spokesperson Andy Garland said there were no risks to public safety and no Hazmat release associated with the derailment. Garland said the train was traveling westbound Sunday at 9 a.m. when a portion of the train derailed. Approximately 25 railcars were involved. The tunnel the train was passing through was full of derailed cars, with the front engines just outside of the north end of the tunnel. One car full of propane derailed, but crews determined that none of the gas had leaked. A hazmat team onsite was monitoring the propane car.

Either American rail infrastructure has been seriously neglected or some jiggery-pokery is afoot.
It is both, but the NTSB fails to warn the public in a timely manner. Like most government departments lately.
Time to ask these carriers about the last time they did a safety stand down, and when they were last told to do it.

I'm beginning to think all these train derailments are active sabotage.
