UK Athletics bans transgender women from competing in female category

UK Athletics has banned transgender women from competing in the female category in its competitions and events in the United Kingdom.

It comes after World Athletics announced a ban at international level.

UKA said competitions it licenses would be run under the new World Athletics regulations when they come into effect from midnight on 31 March.

It added it "appreciates the efforts" of World Athletics to "protect the female category".

The governing body - which contributed to the formation of World Athletics' policy - said it had received the "required assurances" that the sporting exemption in the Equality Act 2010 applies to the Gender Recognition Act 2004, after previous concerns.

That exemption states sporting organisations can discriminate on grounds of sex in a "gender-affected activity" and discriminate on grounds of gender reassignment where necessary to secure "fair competition" or "the safety of competitors".

UKA said its position is that athletics should "remain an inclusive sport" but it is "fair" that athletes who have gone through male puberty should be excluded from the female category

More good news after the World Athletics has banned transgender women from competing in ranking events last week following similar decisions taken by FINA, the world governing body for swimming and aquatic sports, World Rugby, Rugby Football Union in England, as well as several States here in the US that have already banned transwomen from taking part in school and college competitions.

Another blow to the transgender ideology! Common sense and logic must prevail!

Actually it's not the first time transwomen have been banned from participating in competitions. FINA which is the world governing body for swimming and all aquatic sports has banned transwomen long time ago from swimming competitions. Same for World Rugby and The Rugby Football Union in England. Many states here in the US have banned transwomen from school and college competitions and I suspect other counties have taken similar steps.

Many states have already banned transwomen from participating in school and college competitions as well as in sports. Adding the bans from the World Athletics, Swimming, etc, and you get a very different picture emerging.

You are correct but at this point in time there has to be a discussion in relation to what transwoman is. There seems to be a confusion among many who have been indoctrinated and still think it's a woman.

Seems fair to me.

There was a reason men couldn't compete in women's sports in the first place.

Now to remove cross-dressing men who want to force themselves on women from all women's spaces.

It would be nice to retroactively award women any medals they were cheated out of by these guys.
