Nope. VPNs are not specific communication applications, They are general purpose encrypted tunnels.

The entire internet is a communication device. The entire purpose is communications over distance.

But they aren't communication apps. Again, they simply create encrypted tunnels.

The government requires the users to login via a VPN on their computers and government issued cell phones.

However on that note, all users can be monitored for activity of what they are doing in real time. Creepy.

Agreed... ive already said that instead of sitting at home and typing on ATS people should be doing something. Those american forefathers wouldve quit sitting and typing a long time ago, thats for sure!!!!

boy the myths they create about the legendary Founding Fathers are amazing. They sound like a super hero group even in name. That aside, after reading the bill I think it’s a reach to think this covers use of vpns. Any vpn company have anything to say about this?

You should avoid generalities like that when speaking to all of the members of ATS. Many on here helped to build this internet, and are well aware of the vulnerabilities of it's infrastructure and how VPN''s are used both to protect users and their data as well as being a tool for criminals.

These things have not changed since it's inception and any government action, usually spearheaded by politically ambitious administration, has to be severely scrutinized. ATS is a great place for that.

Anybody still think talking will work? If you do you are foolish. War in this county against each other is coming. The US is failing and falling apart. Other then the communist push that is happening a good civil war or revolution is probably what this country needs.

One of those "Told ya!" moments for truthers and Patriot Act survivors.

Yeah right? They only won their independence from the most powerful empire on earth at the time and founded the most free and prosperous nation the world has seen that people from all nations migrated to. Other than that, they weren't anything special

The last time I used a VPN was in the hospital when their parental control setting on their Wi-Fi system did not allow me to go to some sites I use like ATS. The strange part was there were only adults in this hospital, no kids at all

The whole Tik Tok issue is just another in a very long line of smokescreens and distractions, used to usher in more compliance and control, disguised as National Security and protecting the kiddies! Mass surveillance, by the Chinese? How dare they, that's the job of our own governments and their many alphabet agencies!

I have started thinking, for quite some time now, that the only way we are going to change the situation is either mass disobedience and / or a military takeover to kick out the entire lot, jail them if necessary and restore democracy. The only way that could ever be achieved though would be through the lower ranks, not the politicised top brass with aspirations of political office and MiC directorship / advisor positions,........or admirals and generals in dresses!
At some point, the police and military will realise that the government overreach and measures to impoverish us all are affecting them and their families too and break out of their conditioning to simply follow orders.
