I am thinking about the children.
They will have the same civil rights I have, no less.
Too many people shed blood to obtain and defend those rights.
For ANYONE to advocate “sacrificing” them is disrespectful to those WHO ACTUALLY DID SACRIFICE ALL.

Why would you deny children rights?

The point is gun lovers, for the sake of the epidemic of mass shootings should sacrifice their legal access to certain lethal firearms for the sake of the children and the general society.

No.

I dont take advice from clowns who dont know what they are talking about.

Of course, some folks will obviously not want to sacrifice for the kids. Im talking about your kid, my kid, all of them.

Indeed. My kids are grear marksmen...and know what an automatic weapon is and isnt.

Admittedly, in this case, since I’m not a gun guy, I won’t have to sacrifice, but still, I think it's what has to be done to make a dent in this horrible problem.

And thats the problem. You risk nothing. Yet want to dictate.

This is a war against a strange, elusive evil. We need all hands on deck.

No, its not. It starts with mental health and ends with a polite society.

Think of the children, folks. Their our children.

Which im sure you lack the historical context of why this defeats your entire argument and position.

Well done

If you could institute one law tomorrow to fix people killing kids. What would it be

You know, on one level, you folks have a point.
There are some problems unsolvable for as time. This may be one of them.

Gun control is only one aspect of what I’d do. A mental illness research investment too.

And we need in America a spiritual or moral renaissance revolving around uniting people rather than separating them.

Learn to love the concept of America again and love and respect each other.

We need a spiritual revival outside of sectarian, dogmatic religion and nationalism.
That I don’t see coming.

But I don’t have all the answers, bro. I wish I did.
But reasonable gun control that doesn’t disarm the citizens; just dealing with the lethal kind identified many times.

I have many friends who are gun guys. I don't want to disarm them. My best buddy talks about getting a silencer! That's how bad the crime is, I understand.

What specific law would you pass right now to fix this?

Nope, I will not sacrifice that right for anything. ANYTHING.

Soooooo you think criminals will sacrifice their ILLEGAL access to firearms because some clowns in congress made a new law?
Lol the criminals will have more guns when we get ours taken away.

There are ways to ensure safety of children at school.
It appears in places the cost isn’t worth the actual value.

What I'm reaching for out of this is that family values and a proper homelife are priceless. Im sure this isn't what you mean..maybe explain. If it's handy.

I have been a proponent of arming the teachers since Columbine. Though I suppose since the schools are basically little penal institutions now anyway, complete with metal detectors, cops and cameras that arming the staff would just be a possible weapon for a shooter.

I realize the inner cities were used as models for these institutions since the 80s.

I also realize the Brady bill was a joke.

But I am still looking for solutions as the problem has gotten insanely worse.

Those are important.
I was speaking of spending the money to secure the facility, similar to an airport or courthouse.

Especially when in this case we have been told the murderer had plant to shoot elsewhere but thought that location was too tough.

You bring up a strawman issue.
You're pretending those weapons are needed for self-defense. Their not.

This is not Bosnia or the West Bank yet. But if this keeps up, it's the way it will be soon.

And never forget this::

There will always be someone with a bigger gun than yours.

I dont value your opinion enough to be shamed into agreeing with you.

You, like every other authoritarian in history wish to disarm law abiding people to assuage your own feelings. Not my problem.

These rights arent just mine. They are every Americans and their childrens, and their childrens children.

So, again, what law would you enact now to fix this?

Your pretending a civil right is not your “needed”.
As if you had more wisdom than those who wrote and ratified the bill of rights.
In your world no one would be able to defend themselves, let alone “ the children “.

When the info comes out that this person intended to die today and took children with them, what will you say?
Will you ban cars when a suicidal person slides into a bus?

No
You won’t

Banning civil rights is what you people want.
It’s pretty disgusting.

What civil right is next?
All those hurtful words?

Security wise?

The schools I've worked in are filled with security guards, and the High School ---real armed cops.
And they have metal detectors, and one would have to ambush the security to do something.

They should put armed police there. Or they need a school police force with armed guards in the halls and at the doors.

In the suburban and country schools I’ve worked there, too, they do seem less security conscious. They don't have gang and knife fights like the city schools, so they get lax in security.

Simply, they need state or city police forces in schools today.

Would it surprise you to know that the school she shot up wasnt her initial target?

The first one was scrapped because it was "too secure..."

Then, her end came at the hands of a gun. Perhaps if a teacher, veteran or security guard would have beem armed 3 children would be safe at home with their families tonight.

Yet firearms are prohibited in schools in Tennessee.

You're not reasoning.

You don’t ban cars, but we do have rules and laws to prevent a certain level of accidents.

And if accidents go up to a great degree all of a sudden, and we know why and how to affect that, then we do it. It might be the speed limit, drunk driving splurge, or whatever, but society tries to deal with it somehow.

The roads are not safe for your family too.

Now the social atmosphere is lethal for everybody, and guns are one aspect of that problem. Certainly not the whole problem.

It’s about limiting the damage. Everyone knows it won’t be simple and 100 percent effective immediately.
But you have to try, at least.

It is a simple concept. One doesn't blast music all over the complex. Or throw garbage anywhere they want. Or walk around naked.
One has obligations to society.

It's about sacrifice for each other, a give and takes. One hand washes the other. When men go to war, they sacrifice for all of us citizens.

This is a war

If you want to stop crime, we must tax the people to get more cops=sacrifice.

When you have a license by passing a state test.

They do that with cars. Maybe they should do it with guns.

Go ahead and drive without a license.

You don't have the right to have any firearm, BTW without registration or regulation. There are specific laws. You can't have bazookas or grenades without regulation or registration to fight the gangs.

Of course, they can always buy bigger bazookas than us since they're crime lords.

Thats a debate im happy to have elsewhere.

If you want to talk about education and training with firearms, Im all up for it.

However none of the above keeps arms out of the hands of criminals.

Murder is illegal....just in case you didnt know.

No
Your not reasoning
You don’t take away from citizens because criminals commit murder.
Aside from the fact that actual real people, not your fantasies, died to secure the right you would toss away as refuse.

Interesting you think this is war.
It is actually.
Against people like you who would snatch away people civil rights when it’s too tough.
You speak of “sacrifice “ but have no idea what that actually is.
You disrespect those who have with your inane babbling.

What? Regular people using their own firearms to defend themselves? It happens a lot, but it doesn't fit the agenda so it doesn't get deemed news.

There blogs devoted to it though.
