Why just russians?
We are being invaded silently, by men of fighting age who hate us and just want free stuff. They live in picturesque four star hotels and get faster medical help rhan I do.

They are angry, they don't like our freedom, they see our women as whores for the taking.

Compared to them russians are a doddle as you will be able to see and hear them coming.

What about the stealth invaders? An invasion is an invasion un my books.

You fight for so that in the future Your voice will be heard should there be a future..You fight for the privilege of redemption of not only Your failed state but the future of the survivors of their chaos.

can run 70 miles in 24hrs around the brecon beacons carrying my bodyweight.

allow me to clarify…with epilepsy my 'relatives' would have You a marksman in an hour.

We have waivers for everything.

I'm a bit confused I wasn't allowed in the territorial army due to it but was allowed to shoot a few handguns and learn handbrake turns when in the brecons as part of a Special Forces Experience mock SAS Selection charity event in memory of soldiers who died doing the real thing.

I'm a terrible shot and couldn't hit a cows ass with a banjo but can run, hide and carry stuff for weeks.

there's a solution for that, it called spray and pray. one of the reasons they invented automatic weapons for people that can't shoot for sh@@.

I wonder what Ashli Babbitt would say...

After some further pondering, the idea that, despite the reality, I would in essence be fighting for my country (and not my government etc.)

Do you mean if your country was ever invaded or would you travel to a foreign country with the intent to kill those people on their home soil because your government (not your country as you put it) wanted you to?

A very good question! I think, depending on the circumstance, I may be willing to do either. I'd definitely fight to protect my country if it was invaded, but going to fight in a foreign land (to say, prevent 'enemy' advances which may or may not lead to an eventual UK invasion) would not be as clear cut. Would I be better off trying to prevent a possible invasion or saving my little legs for an actual invasion? I think I'd rather wait and see, in a hypothetical world where I have a choice.

Sounds like you wish to fight immigrants Hecate666.

Is that not a problem the government is supposed to deal with aka immigration?

How would you have normal everyday people and UK citizens tackle these "stealth invaders" as you put it?

What would you have them do?

Hurt them, kill them, drive them back into the sea?

Maybe we could round them all up and put them in camps?

What would you like to do that would resolve the issue where immigration is concerned, and please be specific?

Because my bet is you don't have the answer any more than the Tories do.

Far as I'm aware there are no tangible solutions being presented where the problems associated with immigration and the UK are concerned.

The only way they will ever stop boatloads of people from arriving on UK shores every day, is to stop them on the beaches of France from departing.

Or make it so they do not want to come, and how they achieve that is quite frankly beyond me.

Now imagine the country that you would invade in a pre-emptive manner had the exact same fears, where does that leave one's own convictions?

Fighting for a rich elite that threw a flag over the pile of money they make in order to deem it acceptable to kill someone you would speak to in broken language from a travel book if you were a tourist?

Have you never wished to visit another country and marvel at their differences only to realize the one thing you have in common with them? A universal theme that has always been there?

You'd be better off murdering your elites while those people do the same over there.

Before I open my big mouth to support a cause, I consider this.

Yes, of course I'd fight for my country, and sometimes that means fighting the government, your own government.

Only if our island was being invaded. Then like most other Brit's I would fight for our island and way of life. I'd never go and invade another country as happened in Gulf War 1 and 2 then Afghanistan. I'm not saying I'm against putting nasty regimes out of business yet there's enough psychos in Britain to man our military without having to drag the average man in the street into the fray. To defend our island yes, attacking another nation nope

Kind of a loaded question.

Many of us have or were in the military during the cold war years.

I would fight if the engagement were on US shores but I am far to old and broken to be deployed outside the US.

Call me Home Defense.

I have a bit of a tremor thart I can contol for 30mins or so (repaired laptops and analogue synths) but then my hands spaz out after that and go a lot shakier than normal.

In reality I don't think I could ever shoot someone, even before the tremors - I've met a lot of people who did so and got PTSD or other conditions - they're all far harder, stronger and on a different level or fitness, organisatioin, planning etc..

I have a vague memory of a war that was studied and showed the majority of the troops purposely shot over the heads of the enemy - it may have been vietnam but I'm not sure.

I know it's hard to fathom, but imagine that there are other people that are born in other countries that have the same love for their home, that you have for yours.
You wouldn't expect them to go protect a border from immigrants, in a country that is basically founded on immigration...

I absolutely would! Most countries have legal ways to gain entrance and a path towards citizenship, where background checks are performed to ensure they're not letting in a bunch of thugs, gangs and cartel leaders.

Bypassing that step and flooding a country with thousands upon thousands of people breaking the law to enter doesn't have a favorable outcome, no matter how big ones' bleeding heart is.

If the law is so unjust, work to change it, not ignore it. Better yet, 'invade' the countries they're 'fleeing' from remove the oppressive governments and criminal element that's making them invading criminals.

Fighting for your country is something else than fighting another country
following orders from an establishment i don't trust will never happen, but fighting for what I hold dear about my country is a duty.

then go to the southern border and fight for the USA since jb is AWOL

I have to agree with you on this one.

Usually when one is asked to fight for their country, it is a demand being made by those in positions of power, that translates to placing yourself or your loved ones in harms way to benefit the rich and those in positives of power.

Most often if you ask an American citizen, if they would fight for their country, out of voiced loyalty, will likely respond with a “yes”, yet their country is falling apart all around them and they close their eyes to avoid seeing the sick, the poor, the squalor, the lost of identity, all around us, and walk around with our eyes locked on the object in our hands, wearing ear buds, so as to ignore the cacophony that drowns out reason.

The answer to the OP’s question is a resounding “NO”. If we had fought for our country, our country would not be in the mess it is in. We have become a cesspool riddled with pits of quicksand. Because we did not fight.

People fight for their country in different ways. If you are speaking out about corruption and doing your civic duty to try to improve the situation, that is fighting for your country.

Picking up a weapon and shooting civilians so globalists can get richer isn't exactly fighting for your country.

I will fight for my country without question.

Just because there is presently bad leadership, does not mean you should not be a patriot.
