Yeah. That's definitely why people started having issues with drag queens in the last year.

It has nothing to do with increased rhetoric against trans people and having them being targeted by anti-drag laws.

I could point to episodes of Saved By the Bell or Boy Meets World where characters dressed in drag. I could point to entire series like M.A.S.H. or The Drew Carey Show where a major character dressed in drag. Mrs. Doubtfire (and Tootsie before it) was an entire movie based around drag.

These are the shows and movies I grew up on. And here I am as a cis male that's been married to a cis woman for almost four years and our daughter just celebrated her first birthday yesterday.

Anti-drag laws have nothing to do with banning drag. They're a work around to ban trans people.

As I mentioned previously, I know a number of trans performers that are now avoiding these states because they may fall under the anti-drag laws.

And that's exactly what these states want.

This is one of the main reasons that people don't watch anymore. There's no way in hell this movie was the best movie. The movie got the awards for pushing the "woke" agenda.

These are the same people that wanted to give the best movie award to 12 Years A Slave without ever even watching it. The same people who made sure only black actors and actresses won because there were complaints about black actors and actresses not winning. It's all a joke anyways and most people have learned to stay away from movies that are given high reviews from "critics". If you ever look, you'll notice that Rotten Tomatoes is usually the exact opposite of the reviews of normal America.

So then you support banning things like Little Miss pageants? Those go a lot farther with sexualizing children than any drag show. I mean, there's a reason they tend to attract actual pedophiles.

Probably. I've never cared much for those shows, or the parents who try to live vicariously thru them.

Yeah I don't know anyone who even watches those little pageants besides the parents of the kids, and the only two I can name are Honey Doo Doo and JonBenét Ramsey and I only know of their names because of the national attention they both got.

How many people can you name that bring children to drag shows?

In all seriousness, I know a few trans wrestlers that have had to cancel/can no longer take bookings in certain states because they don't know if they'll be popped by these laws.

Some sanity, thank God.

My favorite drag performer is Rudy Brown Sweats. That's who I'd want as my attorney.

You support someone who actively supports children pageants.
Just sayin

I grew up on those shows, too. If you, or anyone else, can't tell the difference between Screech being dressed as a gag and some freakshow walking into a classroom in real life to read a story to children then you have issues bro.

^^^This is not the same as this:

Drag shows get media attention (way too much), little Miss pageants don't. Do you not expect a response from people?

And? You support someone who actively sniffs little girls, rubs on their chests, and tries to kiss them.

Not even the Saved By the Bell episode I was thinking about. Which should tell you how common drag was in the 90s without it being a problem.

Drag shows get media attention now because a certain group is using them to persecute another group.

As I pointed out in my last post, drag was very common on TV going back to the 70s. The only reason there's an issue now is because it lets you easily discriminate against trans people.

So you're saying we should look at it as a joke like we did in the 90's? Laugh at it?

I'm saying we should look at drag shows as they're intended, entertainment.

The thing we did until the Right needed a new Big Bad after gay marriage got legalized.
