So ask yourself if you had a country where the Cartels control just about anything in your country why would you refuse help from a more technological powered country who wants to help ? Wonder if he is also on the take .... I would not doubt it....

Many years ago a Marine friend of mine had said we kicked their butts once so he thought it would be wise to put the Marines on the border and have them move south until we can get a border we can defend; probably around the Panama Canal..

Many of my Mexican friends said America was the big brother they should listen to.. Once the ego is removed I would not be surprised if many Mexicans would be happy to see the Cartels destroyed... It would have been easier 20 years ago before the Cartels infiltrated just about all facets of Mexican life.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has threatened to start a public “information campaign” in the United States against Republican lawmakers after several have called on the U.S. military to target drug cartels south of the border.
“I would just like to tell them either they change their treatment of Mexico or from today we will start an information campaign in the United States so that all Mexicans, our fellow countrymen, know about this aggression by Republicans against Mexico,” López Obrador said Thursday during a news conference.
In the wake of the kidnapping of four Americans and the killing of two of them in the border city of Matamoros, Mexico several Republicans in Congress have demanded the United States step up its fight against Mexican drug cartels, even if that means crossing the border to do it.
“The kidnapping and murder of American citizens in Matamoros prove that Mexico is a narco-state,” Rep. August Pfluger (R-Texas) told The Epoch Times.

Sanctions perhaps? Find out what they really need and cut them off.

Considering the problems with Montezuma's revenge down there, blow up their toilet paper factories and block imports of TP, that will learn 'em.

Considering we don't have any border enforcement, we might as well just take Mexico and make it a new set of US states.

Right down to the Panama canal.

It would probably cost less than we already pay for the border patrol that isn't allowed to do their job, and once complete we'd have more land, more people, and more control of who comes and goes.

Of course, we would need to fix our own government first, the entire West Coast is a lawless wasteland as it is, begging to be controlled...

Maybe Mexico will take that instead.

I don't remember which Mexican President said it, but it was funny..he said "America wouldn't have a drug problem if Americans didn't do drugs." That was the most poignant thing to ever come from Mexico…besides Ana Gabriel of course..I won't post one of her vids out of spec but if You've never listened, You should..tears may just happen.

Target the Cartels and El Presidente then. Not a hard adjustment to make.

Hit it hard enough and there will be plenty of construction jobs in Mexico to do that Americans won’t want to do…

Well-played Mexican President. The Democrats will now have to take your side by default. If you can help them win elections, they don't care how many more die.

we need to implement universal healthcare, medical issues are the biggest reason people get started on the path of addiction, if medical treatment of issues was no longer avoided by people then much pain and suffering could be avoided and people wouldn't need to resort to drug abuse. another reason people do it is because being illegal gives it an allure of foreboding and when that happens they get curious and want to try it or they do it as an act of rebellion, if it was legal it would lose that allure and many would ignore it. get rid of the incentives to doing drugs, no need to invade anyone to end the cartels.

Drugs from Mexico benefits more the Mexican government than the US, but lets no forget the big cartels are all over the US, they need US banks to launder the money back to them in Mexico, US knows this but they do nothing about it.

No, please...
I think we've just had a taste of that with 'back to normal'.

God help us.

With what money?

I suppose we can model our universal program after Venezuela's where the newborns are all in boxes because while the health care is universal, it's also all universally underfunded.

and this is why we have so many problems in our society. this very turning of a real problem, into something to use as political ammunition and propaganda to push the left's political wishes and ideology. instead of actually trying to look into actual causes, and then deal with them.

so why do you think Canada, a country WITH "universal healthcare" (aka socialized medical care), what about their drug problem? or how about the UK, i guess they don't have a problem with drugs either? after all you said the BIGGEST reason for drug problems is "we need to implement universal healthcare, medical issues are the biggest reason people get started on the path of addiction". in fact i would say one of the biggest causes of drug abuse in both Canada and the US is actually the fault of BOTH medical systems. in both countries doctors over proscribing addictive medications, especially opioids. a problem made worse in countries with universal healthcare, since they proscribe medication before even trying to figure our what is wrong, or how to fix it, until after a few years of getting you addicted to drugs, in order to save said universal healthcare system the money they need, and don't have. just like everything else in such a useless system, like the fact when your doctor suspects you might be having heart problems, it takes a couple months to get an appointment with a cardiologist. or the fact that it takes almost a year (10 months), to get needed MRI appointments, as they are finally trying to look into actually dealing with my pain issues after only eleven or twelve years of pain.

you see what that real, big issue is, is that the doctors prescribe things like T3's, or other opioids for almost any even possible pain issue. then once people start to become addicted, the doctors tend to cut them off, regardless of if they have actually even tried to find the cause and actually treat the problem, and not just cover a symptom with highly addictive drugs. they get cut off by the doctor, and so end up in the illegal drugs trade to get what the doctors caused them to need, and of course then getting hooked on worse drugs when an area is dry, or because the drugs are cheaper than the opioids. even worse is when you have socialized medical care, and so while they unlike the US are just given heavier doses of those meds, instead of wasting tax money on actually dealing with your health issues. this causes those people, living in pain, to go search for even stronger drugs, since the ones they proscribe are useless. like happened to a friend a few years back. were put on opioids due to a "back injury", after a very minor checking over. over five years later, they were smoking CRACK on top of their proscribed meds, to try to kill the pain. their family finally paid for him to go to a doctor in the US (medical "tourism" is a very real thing, especially from countries with universal healthcare, as people try to find the medical care they have problems getting thanks to socialized medical care at home). who after actually doing things like tests and specialists, which had never been done in Canada, found the problem. and now he is actually pain free AFTER they dealt with the STOMACH CANCER that had been the cause of all those years in severe pain.

no, if we want to fix the drug problem, we need to actually look for the causes, and then actually deal with the causes we need to fix our medical systems, where such medication is only used as a stop gap, while investigating the problems, and as a last ditch, there is nothing more that can be done situations. in fact other countries doctors rarely give out opioids at all. and instead use an actually more effective pain medication, that was also not addictive, but also not a drug that gets you at all stoned. i believe it was called something(can't think of the first word), acid or something like that. and that would fix some of the biggest causes of addiction, namely the doctors giving out such dangerous medications for the smallest thing, like candy. and then after addicted, kick them out into the illegal drug market. and then we can look into the lessor reasons people get addicted to drugs to correct them.

We could also grap Canada and make it the United States of North America. Let freedom ring.

With so many people saying we should just annex Mexico, I can't imagine why they wouldn't want US troops running operations on their soil.

It actually wouldn't be hard to adopt the Dutch healthcare model onto our current framework.

The biggest difference with their healthcare system is that insurance companies have to offer a base level of coverage at cost. If you're too poor to afford coverage the government will subsidize the cost.
