The Era of the Masculine

I follow a lot of Asian news, entertainment and social media.

There is a massive push toward extreme masculinity.

China for example. Right now any form of "sissy" (that's what they call it, not me) men on Tv, advertisment, social media is being taken down.
We are talking anything from earrings, to feminine hair. Just a little sidebar. I find it pretty interesting a country that has murdered untold millions (maybe billions) of girls throughout their history, then tells parents they can only have one child, then tells everyone nevermind have lots of children, then tells men, don't act like women............oh... you know how this goes down, war. I digress, they don't want any form of feminine men, period!

Korea has had a massive massive growth in the entertainment industry. Kpop, movies, social media. You name it, they are growing. A popular look for the men is a softer more feminine look, longer hair, soft soft skin, maybe even a little bit of makeup. They are seriously prettier than a lot of women. Then BAM BAM BAM a very popular show on Netflix came out called Physical 100. They take the some of the most monsterous men (and actually some masculine women too) to compete. I don't know if the rumors made it over here, but I know in Korea they said they are trying to beef up their society and that is one reason this show came out. It seems to be working as a lot of men in Korea are making social media posts in regards to workout and that show...

Sooooooooooooooooooo...where does that leave the US????????

where is USA.... THE pop-culture is still in the bling stage where unisex is ok .. gender bender facades is still for the fringe people... mimicry of 'Hunger Games' culture is still the goal line

Well, if they see what is going on here in the US, I can understand their fear of it.

Masculine men are beat down here by the Media and social media.

Hubby likes that physical 100 show, but the voiceover/ dubbing is atrocious.

I watch a TON of Asian shows, movies, series you name it. I would never ever do the voice over. At first it was a pain to read through captions, and annoying, but now it's second nature. There is still a lot lost in translation as I understand a lot of Korean but I still use captions. There is something so profound that is lost through voice over, I never realized how much a person's voice is connected to their entire essence but it is.

Well, I live here in Asia and i can tell you two things.

In the dojo men are men, there are NO SISSIES and I don't see any feminizm of us sparring .
Its all bull crap that men are becoming sissyfied.

This calls to mind the old reality show Fox had back in 2001 called "Boot Camp." The eventual winner was this small woman who couldn't even complete some of the challenges, unlike her fellow competitors. Needless to say, the show only lasted for one season.

Society is under attack.

People are lonely because of this.

I hope this is not an attempt to quell homosexuality, because there are more than a few extremely masculine homosexuals.

And more than a few feminine looking guys, that are not homosexuals. Yes. Looks can be very deceiving.

I think if you put a group of random gay men, (American) and random straight men in a room, the gay men would probably be better fit, healthy and stronger. I don’t think that was the case just 20 or 30 years ago.

I'm so weary of all the hyper sex stereotyping we see these days. I really thought we were past that as a society. I was so wrong.

But to the point, sissy porn addiction, including anime, is a growing problem. Porn addiction in general is a problem.

Rightly or wrong, this hyper masculinity PR may in part be a response to this "sissification."

Physical 100 was a great show. I hope there is another season.

China wanting to eliminate sissified men is a direct slap in the face of the US. The US is glorifying men being feminine and has actually made masculinity criminal in some ways, toxic at the very least. Manliness, masculinity, is undesirable in the modern US. Lets face it - its hard to look like a tough guy when you are wearing a dress and high heels.

The younger generation is literally being brainwashed and those without a strong family structure won’t be able to do anything about it.

I had a discussion with some youth that shocked me, many believe it is NOT ok for a straight person to turn down a transgendered person (for a romantic relationship) just because they are transgendered…….What.

This is how they are thinking these days!

It's ironic the older I get the more specific I get toward the type of woman I want to be with. I thought it would be the exact opposite. Used to be, if she was attractive Id work with whatever other flaws she may or may not have, now I prefer intelligence a good sense of humor, and a personality.

Hell after half my life being in long-term relationships, I'm enjoying being by myself, being in a relationship is a lot of work even with a partner you mostly agree with. Even when I'm with someone and she is all in my feels, I still don't find the need to be with them 24/7, I love tinkering with stuff and reading a book, just sitting on the back deck with a fire going too much, its rare to find a woman who can just sit with me and enjoy those activities too. It's weird though I don't have to have the same political beliefs either. Sometimes the difference of opinion can lead to some great conversations but in this day and age, it's becoming more difficult to find a woman that will cross the political party boundary.

Besides the older, you get the more quirks and idiosyncrasies you have, mine included, it's hard to find somebody where your idiosyncrasies mesh and work together. All of my best long-term relationships were based on if we could communicate really well and they started with us literally talking for months before we even went out.

The older you get the less likely you are to put up with others bullcrap.
If you’ve been married a long time the bullcrap is grandfathered in.
