men

i grew up among women and had and still have partnerships and friendships with autonomous and strong women, much stronger than most men i know. that's why i celebrate the women of this world anyway.

this day is not meant to devalue men, but to remind us that women are still disadvantaged, in many areas, in all cultures.

Those other places are neither my cultures, nor countries. Thus, it is NOT the responsibility of others to be the bulwark in place of the native impacted.

She's not my sister, she's a woman of another land who needs to do her own standing. Otherwise, she is forever dependent on one gender or the other, instead of herself. THAT is unacceptable to me as a woman, hobbling ourselves because less company rabble rousing scares us just leaves a negative impression overall.

I thought women were supposed to be stronger than that.

at least my paternal grandma had the sense to teach my dad and his brothers how to cook, which was pretty radical at the time, but man my dad makes fire fried fish filets

Personally, as a '59 year young' woman, it's nice to receive some appreciation on this special day (which also happens to be my birthday)

Weird that women get 24 hours and men in a wig and lipstick get a whole month to celebrate their culture and achievements
