Monday’s announcement comes after years of discussion on the issue. Groups like the Bipartisan Policy Center have pushed for reforms for years and were cited in Monday’s letter. In a 2020 report, the group said many people are hurting their long-term financial security by claiming Social Security too early.

If there is anything that makes me want to swear, it is this.
That last part just chaps my hide. Many people are hurting their long-term security? Excuse me? Maybe it’s because people want to use a few PENNIES before they DIE you flaming red A-holes!

I think SS should be optional! This is the biggest scam placed on Americans. Now they want to push it even further.

Right now they are only talking about changing the “wording” but I’d put money on it that at some point they will make sure people won’t be able to take it out early, you know, for your own good.

They want us working from age 14, retire at 68 and not to take out SS until 70, and then quickly die at 71. That is exactly what they want, those bastages!

This part is precious too:

But some of the reasons that Americans are interested in getting money as early as possible may also have to do with the uncertain future of the Social Security program as is does with any lack of education.

So now they want to call people that take it out early dumb. Is it is dumb if you know people don’t live long in your family? Is it dumb if you know SS is already on shaky ground?

Whenever "policy makers" throw around words like "reform", "giving tools", and "bipartisan" you know that whatever else they say, they are talking about screwing over the peasant class.

It really is a scam, I've paid hundreds of thousands into it in the years when I needed that money, and by the time I'll be allowed to see one penny back I'll have died already or that money won't buy basic bread.

Indeed.

Bipartisan = a sufficient amount of lubrication.

Even the slightest reduction in SS, Medicare/Medicaid is political suicide.

Al Gore kept crying for a lockbox, except he wanted to keep the keys…

Seems the Steal With Impunity policy passed without a vote. Especially without a vote by those paying for it.

Oh well, they will learn bullets are cheap and angry people are not suicidal.

Ya know the irony right?

Democrats including Biden are swarming with all their talk of Republicans wanting to cut SS and it turns out now we have a Bi-Partisan effort to make changes that conflict with the current theme.😃

All this of course, is just campaigning for the coming budget war 😎

That’s the next thing I’m going to be studying. What triggered revolutions in the past.
I know it was always food/taxes. I want to look at it more closely and read up/watch up exactly how events unfolded.
Of course no two revolutions are exactly alike but I believe there has to be a lot of common layers.

Truth.

You know, all those trillions we dumped in the sand in Iraq and Afghanistan would have kept SS solvent for 50 years.

It was well known , when SS was first set up , it would be their own personal personal "credit card" .

Yes, and the older you get the more cynical you get.

I know at some churches it works the same way.

Here’s the formula:

Little people bled dry, but not dry enough to fight back
The rich get richer and richer and laugh at little people.

Nine missed meals is the common phrase. A tax burden that removes meals also figures in there. Hence the popularity of Robin Hood as a folk hero.

Since they decided to use it for a slush fund nobody on the left is eager to point out how this program, along with the increasing age of retirement, screws black citizens because of their lower life expectancy. They don't want to deal with complicated issues that have serious implications for minorities, just accept the contributions they get for saying empty platitudes about black lives. I don't know the exact number, but it's probably into six figures. If these were in private funds the next generation would be able to get the balance. Waiting until 70 means on average black Americans get less than three years of retirement payments. It's essentially an extra tax just for being employed while black.

Most of the systemic racism like SS, insurance, credit, and other things that disproportionately impact black Americans, gets a pass because it's part of the money machine eating all of the working poor and middle class out of existence. Much easier to give away junk college degrees on scholarships, fill media with hollow diversity propaganda, and create corporate benchmarks on paper, than it is to actually make the lives of minorities better with reform.

The uniparty is fine with this and bipartisan reform will do nothing to address the real problems.

I do believe Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson is getting this state ahead of the curve.
There is currently, whizzing through the State House and headed for the State Senate, Bill 1333 that combats extremism, hate speech and other dissent with re-education centers and medicating the compliance into my demented mind.

Taking SS early was a major point in a presentation ( Power Point Too!) given by our 401K representative. Theory given was sure you get less, but over time if you don't die early you in reality get more. This reason strikes me as why people are being put off on claiming benefit early cause it's been known for years.

Social Security is totally the third rail in the US.
Touch it an you die.
More realistically touch it an it's immediately now time for the ousted politician to go write their book an find some
company board of directors who'll have them.

Just to make you see one better.

Joe says we have $20,000 worth of college loan forgiveness for graduates and dropouts alike.
Keep that in mind when it is explained why there is no funding for Social Security.

I feel bad for others, but I've got to admit, I'm over here laughing at the government.

It feels like a poker game, and they bluffed with their pandemic. They planned on taxing the crap out of my 401K, then changing retirement age. I called their bluff and laid down my cards. Full House against their two deuces.

I went out on disability for carpel tunnel. No vax for me! They tried to boot me off disability after one operation, I drew it out for two years, and made them fix both hands.

The disability was $2800.00 a month for 2 years, non taxable income, so while I was on it, I took out just a tiny bit of my 401k. I didn't need the money, I just went for their own loophole. I took out 15 grand, and they withheld 3K for taxes. I got it all back. No taxes paid at all.

Then I sued and settled with workman's comp. Thats all nontaxable income too!

So after 2 years, my company begged me to come back. It was perfect timing. I was there for a big Profit-sharing bonus, and then a mid-year appreciation bonus. I put in 1 week notice after that, and then they paid a bunch of severance, vacation, sick leave to the tune of 26 grand.

I had contacted Social Security and had them start up my Medicare and monthly income payments. Since I started Soc Sec about 2- 2 1/2 years early, I figured they would likely screw me, but I was ready, and my house was paid off. Figured Id get $16- $1800 a month. Nope! $2800 a month!

Early retirement was the best thing ever. Don't listen to them. Now I do whatever I want, shop online daily, cook, barbeque, go for walks, bike rides, garden, go shooting, fishing, and play online.

This government spends at an unsustainable pace yet wants us to live like serfs. Now they are causing massive inflation, but Im ready for them. Four chest freezers full of every kind of food, all vac locked and kept at subzero. All that food will increase in value. They can collapse the dollar, and I'll still eat like a king.

It feels like a real-life monopoly game, and I'm winning. We need to take away all politicians " get out of jail free" card and hold their feet to the fire. They should all be on the same Social Security as we are. You can be certain there will be no cuts to their income. Take all their retirement plan and dump the funds into social security and put them on the same as us!
