God can do anything and you choose to spend your time worrying whether you are right about things. For anything He could send you to past week. Nobody even knows what year 1445 B.C. is.

I am since it was explicitly warned not to look behind.

Furthermore there is no dialogue of Lot or his family begging her not to. The effect was instantaneous.

Then, there is this:

Also, I saw no apologetics raising the issue.

The people who are supposed to study the Bible in depth because it is their greatest book, believers, sure aren't curious about anything.

The church leaders could've written that Jesus fed the crowd with milk and Oreos and you would be like "So? Where's the discrepancy you don't believe in Oreos now?"

Thanks, I needed that.

My point is that you said no one could keep their eyes shut.

I suppose you would be the person out watching nuclear bombs fall because no one could keep their eyes shut.

Additionally, God did what he needed to do. It's not like it is a permanent ongoing thing. If we are going back to literalism as you seem to be switching back and forth to suit whatever goalpost fits your whim at the moment, then there is no spot on the world currently where people suddenly turn into giant pillars of salt upon viewing it. The implication thereby would be that God is done visiting his wrath upon the place, so eventually people went back to the place where the two cities were. As wealthy and prosperous as they had become, there were likely traders who eventually showed up expecting them to be there.

They did not become salt. Instead, they spread the tale of the downfall of the two cities to a great cataclysm.

You are also assuming that no one told them not to look back because literalism fits your purposes there. I guess they were naked as well because no one told them run away clothed?

So yes, the clip illustrates that people can experience great and loud calamitous mystery and keep their eyes shut if their lives depend on it, and then when it's done *open* their eyes and walk off which is pretty much likely to be what happened at Sodom and Gomorrah. When God was done, He was done.

He said, "Thou shalt not..."

Show me where it said, "I shall not..." and then we can talk.

At the very least read the Bible before you double down on your opinion.

You are the one who decided the ethnicity of the ancient writers of the Old Testament and Steven Spielberg constitutes some kind of point.

Not me.

The Jewish Scribes were unique because they were one of the few cultural historians that admitted the faults of their past. Mostly all cultures only record their great deeds and conquests. Whereas the Jewish scribes recorded the good and the bad, making it a more reliable source. Especially since they accurately predicted the coming of the Messiah.

Well their "fiction" just so happened to predict the coming of the Savior of humankind. To the exact day of the year.

Many Jews became Christians after Christ came because they realized he fulfilled their law. He was the firstborn without blemish that would atone for the sins of Israel on Passover... this was fully predicted in the Old Testament

He even made sense of Abraham being asked to sacrifice his firstborn, because that was exactly what God would do with his firstborn for the salvation of humankind.

Accurately predicted?

Are you saying the Old Testament accurately predicted the New Testament?

Isn't that kind of like saying it was accurately predicted that Dearth Vader was Luke's father because the name Vader means father?

Ironically what validates the new Testament is that there were a sub-sect of Jews that rejected the Messiah so vehemently that they said Jesus was a heretic that deserved punishment.

"Jesus the Nazarene is going forth to be stoned because he practiced sorcery and instigated and seduced Israel to idolatry. Whoever knows anything in defense may come and state it."

-Jewish Talmud

Now if Jesus were fabricated by the New Testament authors it would be silly that the Jewish objectors at the time wouldn't simply mention that the New Testament authors made Jesus. Instead they tried to assassinate his character, despite Him being the one that fulfilled their law. To further the irony, this rejection by the Jewish natives was an expectation at the Messiah's coming predicted by the Old Testament authors.

This is why so many know for sure that Jesus was in fact who He said He was.

There is 100% proof that Jesus Christ did exist, he performed miracles and was seen even by the Jewish historians and pagan Roman historians as a magician who could resurrect the dead, and heal the sick.
There is 100% proof that he was crucified under orders by Pontius Pilate.

In here I included several of the pagan Roman historians and Jewish historians and others who wrote about Jesus.

Is there evidence that Jesus Christ existed? Yes, there is.

Most historians, real ones, including various atheists admit that Jesus was a historical figure.
