What in the Sam Hill. What a news day this is.

We all know the government wants to get it’s grimy hands on all real estate and they will do it by chipping away at us all one by one.
Right now they are focusing on landlords… I absolutely can’t believe these laws.

Here

Landlords will no longer be allowed to evict tenants from any rental property, including single-family homes, unless there was unpaid rent, documented lease violations, owner move-ins or other specific reasons. The city’s Housing Department lists the allowed “at-fault” and “no-fault” legal reasons for eviction. Landlords will also have to pay relocation assistance to tenants if the eviction is for “no-fault” reasons.

OH it get’s better!!!

A landlord cannot evict a tenant in order to sell the property, unless the property is owned by the Federal Government (see #5 above).

Here

5. Is the Federal Government and it wants to sell the property the rental unit is on.

We can easily say, so what this is LA in California and they are weird… Yes, but I fear things like this eventually bleed into other areas.

The bums have...won?

This is surely a move to push anyone out of rental ownership so the huge corporations can move in and buy them all up.

If you dont have a decent to good home near a military base or other large federal location I would get out of renting as fast as possible.

ETA: I have a home near a military base with a housing issue, and I worked out with the property management company to keep the rent below the avg, thankfully I got the house at the perfect time so my interest is almost nonexistent and my principle vs interest is about the same as my first home on a 20 year vs the 30 year I currently hold.

But if things are not tilted in your favor run far run fast, if its in cali now a lot of states signed some stupid agreements with california tying their future to cali's.

The only Marxism allowed in my home are Groucho, Harpo and Chico.

Why even rent to anyone, when you want to move, sell your house, or burn it to the ground.

Paying to relocated aside, how is this different than any other cities rules? You violate the lease or dont pay rent you get evicted. Am I missing something?
