Well if it's within Alaska coastal territory then they have to ask nice for it's return.

That's not even remotely close to the object that was just shot down. The unidentified is literally on the other side of Alaska by Prudhoe Bay.

Uh oh, ATS-B is now NOT showing any Military Aircraft in the area!

I had heard that it was Dead Horse Bay, but can no longer find the link. So I read that a fellow ATS'er has noticed an aircraft circling in the State of Alaska and found this. Can you please provide a source for Prudhoe Bay?

I did find it coincidental, and then when the chinese aircraft came into view, I was like, WTH.

Here is the chinese aircraft in a red circle and the USAF King-II in a blue circle.

e.t.a.: OK found it, i was wrong. It's Deadhorse Airport.

It's from Dievent300's OP

The only two confirmed F-22 air to air kills are both balloons.

And instead of using their guns they fired half a million dollar missiles.

Things are heating up, something is gonna give soon, don't wanna have problems with Russia and China.

CPA2071 is a Cathay Pacific freighter. You'll find lots and lots of freighters going between US and Asia making stops in Anchorage. This isn't a sign of things heating up but business as usual.

Because high altitude ballons are surprisingly resilient. There has already been a few cases of planes taking down ballons of this nature before and it almost took every bit of ammo on 2 fighters to bring them down.

You're omitting the fact that it is owned by the chinese military. And in case you forgot, every thing and anyone old enough to fight, is part of the chinese military.

The exact path is classified.

Prudhoe Bay is some 1,200 miles away from your map (it is an 800 mile long pipeline, to give you a reference of scale).

As for the vertical, volcanoes spew ash 35,000+ feet up so 40,000 feet is low enough for traffic (mostly cargo).

The state is huge! And nobody lives out on the ice!! Maybe research ships are out there but China couldn’t reach the area if they tried!

We will have an F35 squadron here this year so I doubt any country would test our airspace!

True. But if you watch flight trackers, you'll see Cathay, China Eastern, China Southern, China Airlines on that flight plan along with every other air cargo carrier going between the continents. It's part of commerce but I do see what you mean. Any of those freighters could be weaponized.

Don't forget though we were also told the Chinese balloon belonged to a civilian and it just got blown of course 😉

As far as "heating up" I was speaking in more of a broader term (not just the CPF) as I'm sure there's stuff going on behind the scenes that we have no idea about. If those guys in Montana didn't spot that Chinese balloon I doubt we ever even hear about it publicly.

At that rate China could bankrupt us by just sending fleet after fleet of balloons that we kill at 500 grand each. 😆

Oh my god! A scheduled commercial airliner is heading towards the debris site! It's a huge conspiracy!!!

It's a scheduled Cathay Pacific cargo flight from Miami-Anchorage-Hong Kong.
