They were Earthquakes in the 2.1 and 2.2 range. That area of Italy has continually swelled and contracted, but we don't often see quakes in the area.

Probably yes .

The waves look very big in North America when they arrive there . I guess it`s not big deal, something that happens all the time but we dont notice it .

So not only did the US issue a warning about a terror attack over there, but we also apparently we are housing nuclear bombs in that country at Incirlik?

Loved my time around Adana back in the late 90's awesome people for the most part, great deal of history and they were proud to show it off and discuss it with anyone that was interested.

This event saddens me, but their building code never seemed to exist, some parts of the US would have a similar outcome with a strong enough quake.

Very Very resiliant people, but I cant even imagine trying to piece life back together in that devastation.

Anyone know if the Mosque at Adana survived?

Largest publicly owned mosque, they loved giving tours, got some pictures from inside and up in the minaret.

The number of confirmed dead from last weeks Earthquake has now passed 30,000 after just 6 days , 29,605 people have died in Turkey with 3,553 killed in Syria.

As search and rescue operations continue the numbers in Turkey are sure to rise significantly given the scale of devastation.

Today, a 5.0 just went off in Romania.

M 5.0 - 1 km SW of Dobrița, Romania

Time: 2023-02-13 08:58:06 (UTC-06:00)
Location: 45.125°N 23.156°E
Depth: 10.0 km

This is good news!

This should relieve some of the pressure that has been building from the movement in Turkey.

Today, Romania is shaking again. This time a little larger at 5.6.

M 5.6 - 2 km NW of Leleşti, Romania
Time: 2023-02-14 07:16:51 (UTC-06:00)
Location: 45.113°N 23.178°E
Depth: 10.0 km

These two quakes in Romania, yesterday and today, were both at the same 10km depth as Turkey.

Turkey is still moving a little with a 4.1 and a 4.8 yesterday. The 4.8 was pretty shallow too.

Kinda big earthquakes in Romania...hopeufully not meaning somethig bad coming ? If it is just releasing pressure that`s good .

Last week, we saw a rather deep earthquake in Turkey. That usually triggers a larger shallower quake to relieve the stresses. However, the other option would be to see the pressure in Turkey being relieved in the direction of Europe. I believe that is what we are seeing with the larger quakes in Romania.

However, both quakes in Romania have been very close together and, since the second was larger than the first, I wouldn't exactly think it was an aftershock. We are most likely seeing the Turkey movement stresses traveling outward through Romania.

Dutchsinse has not posted any updates this week. I would expect him to post a new video soon with the shaking that is going on in Romania. He pretty much predicted it.

I will keep watching it.

There was a 4.4 off the coast of Syria just recently along the same fault that has been moving in Turkey.

If the worst shaking would be now over it would be good news . Unfortunately for many in Turkey this tragedy will continue very long time after this all, not sure what is the death count now

The last I heard, the death count was over 35,000. Surprisingly, they are still finding an occasional survivor.

Turkey is still moving in the 4 range.

Dutchsinse finally gave an update covering the movement in Romania. Apparently, he just had a close uncle die and that was the reason for the delay.

He also talked about earthquake activity in China right now that is moving towards Turkey. As a result, he is forecasting larger quakes near 6.0 in Turkey soon.
