I think it's the universe itself that is laid out flat, but all the celestial bodies are round. And the globe shape is easily observed through a telescope. Everything is spinning. Add gravity to these huge chunks of rock spinning and you get a marble shape every time.

The universe however is basically flat. The light bends at those distances, apparently. It took me a while to wrap my mind around it, but I can see how it's flat now. All connected, but laid out flat.
Maybe that's where our flat earth feeling comes from..

Don't just make a vague statement and not clarify .
I don't think you understand the "flat" reference that the scientists use in modern theory .
Flat does not mean 2D
