He mentioned neither Trump or 2020 in his reply. He did give a very broad reply as a general response to all critics and reiterated our support for his recent reelection. The media are playing yall with obviously false headlines and folks eat it like candy.

DONALD TRUMP IS ONE DAY AWAY FROM LEAVING A HORSE’S HEAD IN RON DESANTIS’S BED

The Florida governor dared to invoke Trump’s 2020 loss on Tuesday, a move that clearly did not go over well at Mar-a-Lago.

I laughed.

Trump clearly sees DeSantis as one of the biggest threats to his run for president -- and he's not wrong in this. DeSantis polls well in a lot of conservative places and I think that by NOT announcing a run this early, he puts himself in a stronger position.

The 2024 elections may see another crowded field in the Republican corner - a wise strategy would be to wait and see what the Republican voters find appealing. If surveys start showing him with a double digit loss to Trump, he hasn't wasted time and effort. If the real competition turns out to be someone other than Trump then he hasn't spent money chasing the wrong person.

Trump's wasting money and energy fighting wars on multiple fronts - Biden, DeSantis, Haley, Youngkin He'd do better if he stopped focusing on personalities and started focusing on real solutions that he can offer (other than his belief that everyone will fall over and obey him if he picks up the phone.)

He's spending money and energy on the wrong thing. I think he could make a strong move if he took DeSantis as his vice presidential candidate, but I'm not sure that DeSantis would consider it after Trump's behavior toward him.

Remember when Kamal Harris called Joe a pedophile and a life-long racist?

She didn't. She said she believed the accusations by some women that he'd behaved inappropriately.

“I’m going to now direct this at Vice President Biden: I do not believe you are a racist, and I agree with you when you commit yourself to the importance of finding common ground,” she said, looking over at him. “But I also believe, and it’s personal—it was hurtful to hear you talk about the reputations of two United States senators who built their reputations and career on the segregation of race in this country.

I have been an avid Trump supporter. Although back in 2015, I was not fully. It took me some time to come around.
I have never supported everything he did, but voted for him twice.
This is not going to be pretty to watch if they go up against each other and sling s h i t at each other. It would have been smarter to team up. But egos....
We need one of them in the White House. WE NEED ONE OF THEM. So as time gets closer, whichever one truly has the best chance of winning, amongst the election mess that will happen....I will be voting for.

DeSantis is doing everything right. He has not said he is not running, and that may be due to legal obligations at this time.
Trump was still the best POTUS we have had for this country. Period.

Fair enough; if she doesn't have the guts to do it, I will.

Joe Biden is a racist pedophile.

Ther. Prove me wrong.

DeSantis will not waste his time criticizing his political opponents in an actual debate. He is laser focused on the facts and the numbers, and never forget that. It is what so many of us have asked for for generations now. I don't read minds unless I am standing near them, so I will continue to support President Trump in his endeavor for reelection.

Now Trump is on Truth Social calling DeSantis a pedophile 🤦‍♂️

If that's the direction his attacks are going to take, I think it will be a bridge too far for some Republicans.

He knows his, "Everyone I dislike is a pedophile" fan base. Most of ATS will eat this up, while level headed Republicans (further) distance themselves from this q-tip quackery, and the republican party will hand the next election to democrats while a pillow salesman says they cheated.

Trump is a known quantity, he's not a sell-out and he's a natural leader not a politician... big difference.

DeSantis is cool and all but I keep getting this wiff of something, might be establishment...

Trump has people's trust, DeSantis will likely kneel to overlords.

As hard as they tried to destroy this guy and Trump has weathered it all, you'd have to be a fool not hop on the train.

Disillusioned With Dems and GOP, Independents are Now the Largest Voter Group in the US

truthout.org...

An Independent outlet self reinforcing itself, nice .

In 9 States which require you register to a party... Independents are outnumbering both parties.

Yes that makes sense to someone like me who lives in a free state that doesn't require you to wear an armband for your party. Registering as an Independent is the only way to attain this freedom from intrusion of your privacy.

In 30 States, citizens may choose whether or not to affiliate.

20 States do not register voters by party.

If you're registered to a party your vote is already cast.

I mean if you're registered to a party then why the dividers at the polls?

I am a bit curious now, I wonder if I dug into it to find out the first state to have citizens to register to a party... Might that be Commiefornia?

20 States have the right idea "keep them guessing"

I agree and Im not suggesting he should run as an independent, just that more than ever voters have an independent streak, and no true party affiliation which is closer to how most Americans are any way.

The first party to tap into that reservoir of voters wins. 2020 margins were razor thin, no reason a solid Republican candidate cant win this, if done correctly.

You're not an Independent if you have to register as one... think about it

That's what it looks like o a Virginian.

Good. Screw the GOP. And the Dems are pathetic. I hope an increase in indie voters also leads to an increase in indie candidates. Leading to weaker Dem and GOP bases, and thus, power.

Don't get me started I don't care about much politically it's all drama and theater, we need to end the 2 party system, political lobbying and have short-term limits, and end career politicians. Till that happens we have to swim in the filthy dirty waters and do the best we can without swallowing some of it.

I have no doubt some states play the system, I also know some people just join the most popular group in virtually all situations.

Regardless independent or unaffiliated, we likely steer the election in 2024

But until the Democrats and Republicans make it where an independent gets the funds and exposure the system affords the donkey and the elephant, there will be no chance for independents and we are forced to be pigeoned holed into one or the other or you can piss away your vote and vote independent and cause the most viable candidate closest to your views lose

The rivalry between DeSantis and Trump seems awfully contrived. They roughly follow the same agenda, use the same body language, live in the same state and have the same supporters. Both understand that it's not wise to attack someone from your own camp. So why is it happening? Play-pretend opposition, just like their enemies? Distraction? To lure deep-staters out of the sewer?
