Robbie Bachman, drummer and co-founder of Bachman-Turner Overdrive, dead at 69

They say that death strikes in threes.

And that’s certainly the case in the music world, which in the span of just two days has lost guitar god Jeff Beck, Elvis’ daughter Lisa Marie Presley and now Robbie Bachman, drummer and co-founder of ’70s classic-rock band Bachman-Turner Overdrive.

No cause of death was immediately given for Bachman, whose passing at 69 was announced by his brother and bandmate Randy Bachman.

BTO was never my favorite band, but they did have a bunch of good songs......
RIP Robbie!

Three is a magic number!

Bummer. The 70s would have not been the same without BTO! Some good music.

Oddly enough, The King started using the the phrase, “taking care of business”. He had a a gold ring with “TCB” on it!

RIP, Robbie Bachman. Thanks for the rock and roll music!!

I always wondered that since Elvis was using TCB first, if BTO was inspired by that to write a song called Takin' Care Of Business.

I heard BTO playing Takin' Care Of Business on the radio just today. I wonder if it was because Robbie died?

Bachman-Turner Overdrive was a good band, I like them a lot, and played several of their songs in the various bands I've been in. Their songs always went over well.

TCB

Here's a version of the story that somewhat addresses that while telling the story of how the song developed and the mysterious pizza piano man who made it happen and then vanished like that one pepperoni you pluck off when you open the box.

Blue Oyster Cult and Foghat in Nashville was my first. I did get to see BTO in concert also. They sounded great. I remember Robbie doing a solo with his hands and it was bad arse.

Rip Robbie and thanks for the great tunes.

Yes, it's very sad that all these Great artists and pioneers of rock have all been passing away.

At least they leave us with an everlasting legacy.

R.I.P. Robbie.
